whoa, dat accuracy. Looks amazing! And just model what you feel like! I'm not as skilled as you, never will be, but from experiences I know I can only be motivated if it's a project I feel like. No motivation is no speed or progress. I am sure it's the same for everyone. So you just do your thing.

 

I keep getting joy out of seeing progress, even though I dislike Ford in general. Keep up the good work

 

 

Oh, and as for the "people want Forza sh*t", ignore that. Yes, everyone likes these lame supercars such as Lambos and Ferraris, but the 100% self made average cars beat them all! These old cars became average traffic and no one sees the beauty and effort in them anymore. But I rather an average car than a supercar, as for GTA IV and real life. My good ole Golf MK1 always pleases me and a Lambo will never beat that!(Real life situation)

@compeast thanks :)....someone have to convert FLED's duster, i never seen a single duster in GTA4. my monaro and land cruiser is a hit :) more downloads than my other cars (except the LTD crown vic, people probably looking for a modern ones and maybe stumble upoun mine instead) good cars that never been available on gta4 have better chance.

 

Wondering whats going in? Im in the process creating LOD mesh. Im hoping i can get it done in 2 days but the cloud in my head is slowing me down a bit. Im juggling with other projects so its more like 40-30-20 split. I cant wait to get this in game soon.

 

 

 

Next shot will be in game..

This is another top model of yours, stop talking about all that Forza conversion crap, most of the people who are on the Vehicles topic here at GTAF appreciate a scratch model over some seen 1000 times converted already cars, they also vote with their mouse too, if you create awesome new models that have yet to be featured in other games the downloads will add up quick as yours will be the only model. If you look at the downloads already adding up on GTA Garage (a fairly quiet place) for your mods it is clear that lots more people want your vehicles than the few who comment here, the best thing you can do is make cars you want to drive in game, perhaps less people will be interested in vehicles that your making for yourself but there will still be interested people, if you like it enough to make it, then there will be other fans of the car out there too, so don't give up and I am sure lots of people who (Including Me) are looking forward to see what you have to offer us next. Keep up the great work you Champion!

Funny I posted my WIP submission (like I usually do in the last few years) to GTAgarage..in few days I got a shocking revelation "the mod had been deleted" WOW UNBELEIVABLE!

@silent I didn't bother, I suspected a glitch did it (i noticed its been acting up for a week prior posting the fairlane) so I felt its not worth bothering anyone, at that time i'm too busy getting my stuff done.....I just ended up re posting it (hopefully my earlier entry will no re-appear)

 

@almost Thanks :) what you said is so true. I love old cars, and there are so many potential car models to get them in game... so I will keep on going :)

 

 

I had been trying to get the LOD1 done and is nearly complete, I am in the process of uv mapping it...the polycount for the LOD1 is 15K that's far less than the LOD0 mesh. There's other project im currently working a Roadwarrior's Monaro and converting Stratum's Defender (im also modeling LOD1 for it plus its extras)

IV goes up to LOD2. One in the vicinity, one a couple steps away from the vehicle and one for the far distance. The LOD2 can be optional. Edited by Compeast

@silent I never added _lo models on my III-vice city-SA cars...something I am not aware until now :D LOD2 is direct equivalent to chassis_vlo. The other parts require the LOD2 are only the lights. The LOD1 have some kind of poly count limits, or else windows will not break and bullet holes will not appear (typical glitches plauged forza conversion cars) safe to say the total poly count for the car should be under 20K. I like to convert the LOD1 to SA, but I forgot how to do it properly (not able to spawn the car)

 

@compeast Thanks :) as long im well fed and not sleepy and a regular dose of caffeine, I can do a lot.

Whole trunk full of Playboys will do. :colgate: Or some Ford maintenance books.

Remember your International that I sent to you converted? Has the problem you're stating right here. Even crash when shooting the windows. Maybe that's the problem. :p

Well, that's cause games don't support it, only III checked for _lo frames but did nothing with them.

@silent interesting, for years ive been curious about "_hi" every time i named the models. I guess they cut it because the cars in gta3 era are low poly.

 

@compeast im planning to rebuild the loadstar based on your conversion. (once i made major progress on my fairkane) to find the sorce of the crash.

 

 

Anyway i am prepping to get the car ti zmod, merging the parts etc.

Overal the quality looks splendid. I didn't expect the .wtd to be that heavy, tho. Few problems I've found, just in case you weren't already aware of them.

The part marked with the white circle has the damage messed up so it doesn't show up bullet hits. The window often doesn't break or when it breaks, the chromed pillar does as well and it shouldn't. The window thing sometimes happens in the other side as well.

I didn't either expect it would fit passengers in the back seats. Depending on the model the head stick outs the roof but cool stuff...

The fact that the rear window breaks along with the chrome pillar might be because the chrome pillar is attached to the rear window?

And the no bullet holes perhaps because the rear ped entrance. Not sure, though.

@roadrunner It was hard to carry a mission with 2 seaters, its crude but I like having the rear seat utilized, I never got a chance to reposition the passengers dummies. The reason bullet holes are not showing up because I forgot to change the collision ID area used to be the rear doors, because I used door Shaffer example file for the collisions and dummies.

 

 

@compeast The chrome window frame is a tough one, this car is a pillarless hardtop, you roll down the side windows the chrome frame goes down with it...unless I know how to play around with the epm.

Then just attach chrome as a part of the door. I don't recall IV ever rolling the windows down, and the chrome probably shouldn't destroy when the window's smashed.

@silent not too often. Certain characters (little Jacob) and when you pass through toll gates. The chrome part is only a trim attached to the glass, once the glass shatters, the chrome trim technically falls off. Due to game engine limitation it just disappears.
