bumping the thread time..ive been so tied up I cant even post a thread....the reference photos are a little ambiguous...hard to get the details right.

@roadrunner Some interior parts, undercarriage and engine parts...about 60% done...

@unvierse OMG is that Bing Cosby? he's been in the hot water lately.

Awesome work on those doors, Carface80.

Did you by any chance see my earlier post regarding future projects? I have quoted it below.

Hi Carface80, will you create as a possible future project a 1992-1997 Ford CVPI? That would be awesome.

Cheers.

Cheers. :)

@roadrunner I spent most of the weekend tweaking the door jambs and window frames (btw its a bitch) because they have to line up with the body weatherstrips... I found more reference pics..I hope I'm ok for now. I've been sick for the last few days so I've been less productive.

It's a shame you can't find any scale models of the LTD, evidently. Either that or I haven't looked hard enough. Those are great for references in my experience.

I know that feel, I've sick for some days already and it sucks, no mood or strength to do anything.

@roadrunner get well too, I need a lot of chicken soup to gell better.

@universe No luck finding a Matchbox or a hotwheels either, but at least I managed to find some kind of scale model from the older and cheaper sibling Fairmont.

BTW a surprise:

From http://www.atlasrr.com/Trackmisc/fordfairmont.htm slightly higher quality

30000004_TQ.jpg

Above and behold...It gets better, an indie kit model maker made the one and only Fairmont futura resin kit model from http://www.futurattraction.com/6.html

Its only a abody shell, but if you have a Fox Mustang from Revell, AMT etc with the same scale, you graft an undercarriage.

FZ_RESIN_BODY.JPG

oh BTW I almost forgot... I still cant find a matchbox, a scale model and a resin kit model for LTD LX DOH :panic:

Heck, I still prefer modeling in 3D....I can play it in GTA and if I can afford a 3D printer...then I can make a kit model out of it muhahahahaha

Ha! I remember that Ford Fairmomt, it's made by Atlas and I saw it for sale at a model train convention about a year ago, but I ended up buying a 1980s Chevy Impala squad car instead. Atlas makes some good sh*t though, they've got a nice line of Taruses or however the hell you spell them

virtually all the fox bodies (except mustangs) are somewhat kind of underachievers. the biggest turn off are having 4 lugged wheels...to me those 4 lugs cars reminds me of economy cars, very uncool. Fortunately 5 lugs conversions are available (made for mustangs but sure as hell compatible with other fox bodied cars. People do appreciate the fox bodied car's low curb weight, means if they drop a well tuned 5.0 engine its gonna fly :D

I just prefer boring, everyday cars well above stuff like Maseratis and stuff.

The LTD LX had a 5.0 V8 engine but they were produced only for a couple years. 4 door fox Mustang basically.

@roadrunner yes Indeed, I used some of fox mustang references for this car, they shared the similar floorpans or platform, engines and suspensions.

@universe Not totally in with these exotic cars, when i was young I disliked 2 doors cars because I always sit in the back. My auntie gave me a framed testarossa poster and I'm like "wtf is this car?" if I got hooked with Miami vice at early age then my taste of cars might be different.

Holy sh*t dude, I remember growing up and going to see my grandad, he'd have a Ford Ranger and the closest thing to a back seat he had was a little thing on the side of the cab that folded down behind the passenger seat. So my grandad would be driving, my dad would be in the passenger seat, and I'd be in that little flip-down back seat, my head banging against the back of the cab whenever we hit a bump because it didn't have no seatbelts.

@universe those boxy 1983-1987 ranger? I haven't seen these models in a long time. I remember riding these 2 door Toyota corona when I was 8 it' was pain getting through the backseat.

@ilyakostygov have you tried this one, not really high poly but looks reasonably good

Edit: I got a lot of cars in the pipeline and the Nova is available on Forza 4 it's a matter of time someone will convert it.

@universe omg this is like 1999-2003 model, oh my oh my I'm getting really old. They no different with 1992 models except the front end, engines and most of the interiors. I remember seeing these 1992 rangers on Baywatch. It's a shame Ford canned these lil trucks. Put some huge tires, flares and maybe an ecoboost engine and these Rangers going to be more badass, resizing is not neccesary, just add a crew cab model.

Indeed, there's something about those little compact pickups that're quite calming.

I had a 1992 GMC Sonoma (same thing as an S10) for 11 years. It had little fold-down seats in the rear that were "hidden" in the side panels under the rear side windows when folded up. I hated it when my friends and I were planning on going somewhere and they chose my truck as transportation. If I ever get me another S10/Sonoma, the first thing to go will be those danged fold-down seats!

@universe These "compact" trucks grown so much they are only a hairline smaller than the Full-sized trucks. FYI to automakers not everyone eats processed meat 10 times a day you know, and not everyone have have hip as wide as a lay-z boy chair :D

@JAG nasty place to seat indeed, these modern mid sized trucks are no better..to get a true 4 seats compact truck, get a 4 door truck. I want a S-10 so bad, I can chop the 1992 S-Blazer rear and add a pickup bed :D

progress on LTD, front suspension is nearly done...still needs a tranny, finishing up the engine block, a lot of things on the engine bay and a lot of small stuff on the interiors..

I noticed a small stalk on the right side of the steering wheel, I suspect its a tilt lever (cruise control buttons are located on the wheel spokes)
