[WIP|SCR] Blue Ovals

Recommended Posts

Bro! I own a 1985 Mercury Marquis Brougham (taillights, grille, stereo is all that differs from the 1983 I think). It's bone stock. Whatever you need in ref. pictures, shoot me a PM and I'll get it for you.

I hope that I am not mistaken, but is that Ford LTD the cop car that was used in Vice City? A proper HD Version of that would be awesome.

You could probably transform the '66 into a ZC or ZD Fairlane too.

@almost610 Yes, As far as the Fairlane goes, hmm im tempted to do a 4 door model, looks almost identical to the american except for the subtle details. hopefully my motivation can do some magic. ...btw youre going to love this one https://flic.kr/p/9f2Vat (much smarter than putting a Chevy emblem on a Holden car)

@universe Hopefully things goes well I can do both Ford and Mercury models :)

Yeah I do love that, we dont see two door Lane's over here based on the Falcon usually there is only the imports and a few factory converted USA models from the early years, its quite common though to see people swapping Fairlane fronts onto Falcon Wagons and Utes, which like the pic you shared is ok because they are all still a Ford in the end, there is some nice cars in that guys photo collection.

Here is another one for you to think about doing, it would be quite interesting seeing this done.

@Blingy @SilentPL @Ipgunit thanks :)

@almost610 Hmmm from past experience, its hard re working existing meshes, I may have to re-do 2/3 of the car, so might as well start clean from scratch (then re-used model parts) I suspect, the australian fairlane panels fits almost perfectly to the 67 fairlane coupe, im suspecting the Australians fitted the 67 fairlane body shells into the stretched falcon platform...probably to cut cost and to avoid reliability issues. The ambulance is cool, reminds me of ecto-1.

@GCT I am not sure, my san andreas conversion skills had leaked away. I tried converting a bus, and its not as easy as I thought....I fondly remember I spend some good time debugging before I can managed to spawn a car....

Regarding the body, the ZA Fairlane was introduced in 1967 and is the same body as the ZC (ZC was just really an update with the new front quarters and grill looking like the US '66 model) so chance might have it that you are right and they based the original ZA on the US Lane Body as they would have been in design around the same time. Here is a little rip from the ZA Lane the kinda backs that up.

"The body shape was similar to the 1966-67 U.S. Fairlane sedan"

"The rear quarter panels and boot from the US Fairlane were used and square taillights replaced the round units used on the Falcon."

@almost610 I was going through the page and For some odd reason I really like the ZJ and ZK fairlanes, feels like one of the GTA3 cars.

@compeast I haven't made a Ford for a long time :D my previous releases are GM products (except for a Toyota, curiously made some joint venture with GM in the past)

@Adam_P Movies always my source of inspiration, I love the good old car chase. Hmmm planning to re-do my Pontiac LeMans...

@dxivilea sorry, for now its for gtaiv, my san andreas conversion skills had been rusty, it wont be out right away.

The ZJ/ZK along with the the XD Falcon has always reminded me of the Vice City Sentinel.

And the FC LTD front always felt like the VC Admiral.

@almost610 thanks, the only reason im little faster because i have some decent reference the inner parts of the car and door jambs can be tricky. So hopefully i get the rear end done, and start with the interior soon. If i bog down, then its the ltd turn.

@nik i cant wait to tet this car done .. I have t decided on the soecific model yet maybe a 390.

That's a nice looking speedometer you got! Reminds me a lot of the old one my dad used to have on his old 1959 El Camino. He spent a lot of time trying to get that beast to run.

Hats off to ya

@universe Im lucky enough to find this gauge face from the internet, it was white but I inverted it (saves me a lot of time photoshopping) Sounds like that old el camino had been sitting for too long. That reminds me of an old lawnmower (had been sitting for years) Im trying to get it running, I spent a good time cleaning up the gunks and varnished residues from the carburetor, but the gaskets are in poor shape...I have to find a kit to rebuild the carburetor. carburetors can be tricky.
