Robaldinio Posted June 22, 2014 Share Posted June 22, 2014 (edited) I have completed every other last thing there is to do in the standard edition of GTA V: 69/69 missions; 58/59 hobbies & pastimes (last one is special edition); 58/58 strangers & freaks; 30/30 miscellaneous activities; I have collected every single collectible in the game, including the 10 Epsilon tracts (I didn't even know those existed until I randomly stumbled upon one). According to Social Club, I have played for exactly 150:00:08... ...However I have only checked off 44 "Random Events". Discounting the Simeon encounter (which I missed), that leaves 12 other unseen events. Several searches for information have led me to various theories about having to wait for specific amounts of time, or playing with the camera angle to entice spawns... that sort of stuff. Most people seem to suggest that while certain events won't spawn for them, they still have multiple encounters with old ones they already completed but I can't find anything at all. In regards to Security Vans, I have read that the Social Club map is slightly misleading; I found more accurate locations at this thread: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/634491-grand-theft-auto-v/67500570 I've tried saving at Vanilla Unicorn to pass the time by a few days and driven across the city but I find absolutely nothing. It's like everything has been locked out of my game somehow... The complete list of Random Events I am yet to experience are as follows: Security Vans 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10. Make sure you do not trigger any random event on the way to the vans because that will cause them not to spawn. Shop Robbery, you just have to get lucky. Keep trying to enter Bob Mullet's barber in Rockford Hills until you get it. If that helps, mine appeared when playing as Michael sometime around 14:00-17:00. Abandoned Vehicle 2 is also quite rare and random. It only occurs at night. Arrests 1 should happen at any time next to the house in Grapeseed you burn down in Crystal Maze mission. Border Patrol 2 also appears randomly. Mine also did not appear at all but they all eventually spawned after either skipping to next week or constantly driving around the place. I read about the weekly thing but somebody had immediately posted that they hit a few vans in less than a week. Is there a specific time during the day for those? For the store robbery I actually wasn't sure if it was supposed to be the barbers or Poysenbys on the next street, so thanks for clearing that one up. It's difficult to find information regarding time of day for anything so thanks for that too. I will try skipping ahead another week and see what happens. If I remember it correctly, it was 9:00-16:00 but a few of the parked ones (Paleto Bay for example) spawned both at day and night so I guess there is no set time. ChiroVette Posted February 8, 2015 Share Posted February 8, 2015 (edited) I know this is an old thread, but I am having huge troubles getting Security vans 4 through 10 to spawn! I am on my second playthrough and I gave up trying to get the same ones to spawn on my 100% completion save because it became a real fool's errand. But on this save, I am relatively early. I haven't even unlocked Trevor yet. I tried doing other things to get them to spawn, under the theory that these are, after all, "random events," but even after collecting all 50 Unique Jumps, all 50 Letter Scraps, and doing some other hobbies and pastimes, random events, and miscellaneous stuff (friend activities, golf, tennis, hookers, dancers, booty calls, etc.) vans 4 through 10 still seem to not want to spawn.. Edit: Here's something odd. There is a small area just northeast of the docks and helipads that Franklin and Michael own one of each. This area has a ton of stubborn, hard to spawn random events. There is a shop robbing one, a Drunk Driver, three Security vans I can never get to spawn, and one security van that spawns easily. Now the weird thing is I was just driving around that area and a Security Van I already have credit for just spawned. I destroyed it, took the cash, and evaded the cops, and of course got no credit on Rockstar's Social Club because I already got that one. I double checked to see if I was losing it, and I reloaded the save that was just before I got that van for the second time, Sure enough, it spawned AGAIN on the reload. CarlitoDorito Posted February 10, 2015 Share Posted February 10, 2015 I think you have the bug, the sh*tty big which makes random events and property missions, possibly some strangers and freaks missions disappear. It happened to me on 360, on PS4 it's worse. There's ways of getting them back, like playing online for a while, but none are guaranteed. I keep going back and nothing happens.. and now I have reached 100% I am loosing the will to keep trying (Although would like to play all of them). emelen Posted February 11, 2015 Share Posted February 11, 2015 I haven't even unlocked Trevor yet. Then you'll only be able to complete approx. 14 'Random' Events until you do.. They're not all as random as R* would like us to believe, once you complete 'Friends Reunited' they should all be available. Check this GameFaq out for more info and watch the video below. The video is doing them in the Brady Guide order, if you don't have a copy, check the link in my signature for the 'Random Events' page. When watching the video, pause it when the video shows the map screen and look in the top right-hand corner for the character it triggers with as well as the day and time they trigger.. Anyway, I seem to have this part of the game under control. I did the next two missions and that seemed to open up more random events. I have only ONE left, which is Security Van 8. I did a ton of collections and side stuff, as well, like all the Spaceship Parts, all Knife Flights, all Under Bridges, all Hobbies and Pastimes available at this stage. However, I have a big problem now, and I don't know if this one has a solution, I left the last Paparazzo missions undone while I did all the other stuff and concentrated on Events and such, and now they have disappeared. I have searched the web and apparently this is a problem with some people are having that seems to come from leaving the missions on your map too long or something. I only have the first two Paparazzo missions done, and as I said, the next one disappeared off my map. Does anyone know if there is a fix to this? Or does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Before assuming I had this glitch that so many people are complaining about, I probably should have checked the prerequisites for doing the final two Beverly Paparazzo missions. They apparently don't open up until you have completed "Three's Company" for Dave over at the FIB. I just did the mission and completed the last two Paparazzo missions. So I am all good, AND only have one more random event. I have 56/57, the only missing one being Security Van #8, which appears in the Lango Zancudo are on the West side of the map. I have been there 100 times on this save and haven't seen it yet, but I am sure I will get it eventually! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
emelen Posted February 12, 2015 Share Posted February 12, 2015 I've posted this reply a number of times but the best way I've found so far, is to have a controller attached via USB, make sure your console is set not to switch off after xxx minutes of inactivity, make sure nobody else in the house will touch your it, load up your game, go to work during the day or sleep overnight, when you come back to your game after about 7-8 hours of real-world time, put your character's phone into 'sleep' mode, drive to near where your random event should trigger, put the phone back into 'normal' mode, approach your random event and it should trigger.. In fact, I just checked SC and it says my PS3 progress has dropped way down to 21.01% with only a handful of story missions completed. Is this an effect of transferring to PS4? o.O Anyways, I've had no such problems on PS4. I'm actually close to 100% but have been away from the game for a while. Well, I f*cking stupidly missed the Simeon event again lol, so I won't technically reach 100%. But I've got all of the other random events etc. including the ones I noted in the OP. There is one glitch I noticed on my PS4 version which is that the weed farm event failed to respawn after I did it once (I'm not even sure if I did that before on PS3). edit: Actually, I can't get the Hunting activity to check off on PS4 SC. I've played it several times - I've never completed all of the challenges but the checklist is only supposed to require taking part in the event one time. I'll put more effort into figuring that one out when I can get back online (I was only playing on my brother's PS4 before). I got 100% once before, but I wasn't able to do some stuff like the Simeon Event because at the time I didn't know it disappears after a short time. I also did only what was necessary for 100% that playthrough. So my goal this time is to get everything. I have already done all 50 Stunt Jumps instead of the required 25; all knife flights and under bridges as well as I will do the Submarine Pieces and Nuclear Waste, etc. I want to tick off every little thing on the social club site. emelen 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
