topeira
hi everyone. question about V - i know characters can level up in V and i am a little worried about this concept in a GTA game so i gotta ask a few things to those who played the game: 1) what attributes level up? does it differ from trevor to michael to franklin? 2) can you control how much you level up and when you level up or is it all done automatically as you play the game...? 3) does the leveling up of the character cause the game to become easier and easier? 4) is there a way to make firefights hard throughout the game so it's always a challenge (in assassins creed i always just prevent myself from upgrading my armor to prevent the game from becoming a cake walk, for example)? 5) do guns lose their recoil and "feel of an actual gun" as you level up? TrueGTR
Level up applies to Gta online so trevor michael has nothing to do with leveling up. In gta online levelling up enables more weapons and capabilities. You start from level 1 and then sky is the limit. 120 is the final level though because everything unlocks by then. topeira
no no no. this shouldnt have moved to MP. im pretty sure there are skills and leveling system in the SP. http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/131522/whats-the-fastest-easiest-way-to-level-up-your-skillsid' like to hear more than the info on that page though. especially on if it's making the game too easy or anything. seeing that the shooting skill reduces recoil really sadness me since the awesome recoil from WATCH DOGS was what made gun play feel so good in that game and the lack of recoil in GTAIV PC is one of the things that ruined gunplay in IV. also, how effective is the STEALTH skill? all i hear is that stealth isnt a part of GTAV. that silencers dont work etc.... moderators, please bring this topic back to SP GAMEPLAY forum Edited June 22, 2014 by topeira
xoC18H21NO3xo
Things I've noticed as I've leveled up: Once you reach 120 and own the minigun, almost all gang attacks will have a guy with a minigun trying to spawn kill you. Once you reach 500 there will be two guys with miniguns on the larger gang attacks. Once you reach 800 there can be 3 to 4 minigun dudes in a gang attack. Enemies in missions go after you with much more venom. For instance, if I do Rooftop with 3 players with ranks less than 100, one of the professionals will kill me out of nowhere. Doing solo missions are slightly more difficult. Missions change dynamics change according to number of players and their ranks. Survival helicopters also change according to number of players and their ranks. Four people over 120, will get four helicopters. In deathmatches, if I kill someone three times without them killing me, I get spawned with my back turned to that person. Also, I'm not sure if this is true for everyone and whether or not it is related to rank or just a bug, but my auto aim has become less useful. I'm finding I have to free aim even in missions more often. People say it takes a lot to kill me, but I feel like I go down far too easily. For me the biggest cons of leveling up my character is the fact that people assume I have cheated and/or i get kicked a lot when attempting to join missions and deathmatches. People have this ridiculous assumption that higher ranks are going to be super killers, super racers, super everything. Also, when modders see me in deathmatch, they automatically assume I'm one of them and will turn on their god mode. kilopm
Sofa
Fairly obvious he's asking about the SP attribute.... The skills don't matter much in single player, except flying (less turbulence) and shooting (max ammo capaity) they don't do much, neither do they differ between characters. You can pretty much safely ignore them, impact is minimal imo. Stealth mechanics are mediocre at best, you're not going to be snake here. Suppressors work to a degree, but witnesses and law enforcement have senses like none other, and consistently see or hear you when you'd think they surely shouldn't. Keep it challenging? Turn on freeaim, you should never have any aim assist enabled to begin with if you enjoy a challenge i'd say. Autoaim is just annoying anyway, takes away player input, and never targets the nme you had your eye on, just closest or something like that... topeira
thanks, sofa. i hope i will be able to mod GTAV PC and increase recoil on weapon and reduce the amount of health i gain when it regenerates. i found the shooting mechanics and the AI accuracy compared to the health amount and regen-speed in watch dogs (on hard) to be really really satisfying. i hope something in GTAV can be modded to get closer to that (which means make weapons do more damage, health regen less than 50% and faster and weapons should have major kick. and i ALWAYS disable any type of aim assist. i just dont get how ppl enjoy playing with it on. what's next? have need for speed steer for you? isnt it a part of the game to have fun aiming and feeling the satisfaction from hitting your opponents on your own instead of having the game play for you? JC Hammer
and i ALWAYS disable any type of aim assist. i just dont get how ppl enjoy playing with it on. We have fun because we like to play with other people, Free Aim lobbies are empty!

Sofa
We have fun because we like to play with other people, Free Aim lobbies are empty! Unfortunately, this is the case.... Although you sometimes find full ones, free aim lobbies are pretty empty. Autoaim ones are just so terrible i can't join them period. Just press two buttons and you get 'em regardless... i don't get it, what a pointless crutch. Booooo.... Think you can join aimassist eith it disabled yourself, but then it would be kind of a gimp vs. aimbotters thing, doesn'sound too fun. Think you can lock on nmes in vehicles even, as well while driving one. Edited June 24, 2014 by Sofa
