Crate, is it worth it?

Depends on where you find value. I think its worth it if you want a change from missions, and you are doing other stuff in freeroam as well. If you are pretty much just waiting afk for ages jacking away until the crate comes then nah thats just sh*t, most of the time the reward is pretty sh*t as well.

 

Im usually playing around with bounties and such and like to try and get shootouts in various parts of the map. So sometimes crate drops can be fun if you get a bunch of interesting people in that area, especially if everyone is caught off guard by the crate drop.

 

Going off the radar and picking off people who go to the crate is pretty fun as well.

 

 

 

 

TL:DR: The crates never f*cking drop f*ck it bro.

You can do missions and any activity whenever you want, but special crates are rare.

If you like getting killed, crate drop areas during events are hunting grounds. Albeit, during this event everyone seems to be ignoring them

I got 500rp and a minigun from a normal crate. Worth it I guess. The other time, I got $7500. Not too shabby.

Only bother with the special ones. Regular just have 2k, RPG, a bit of RP.

Its more of the achievement of getting the crate in the most badass way possible before the other players do
EDIT just realized I already have the special crate t shirt, wasnt even aware there was one lol

I have given up on the crates. 250rp + sticky bomb, i mean WTF. Gang attacks are much more valuble, unless you hit one of those 5000rp crates. I hunt when there's a special crate drop.

I went for a crate in a frogger. 3 players were fighting over it. I jumped out . Someone shot the crate open but was killed before he could get the package. I sky dived right onto it , collecting the package a split second before death. They hunted me down for half an hour.

Each crate is 100% random. I got one once that had molotovs, a bunch of money and a RockStar shirt for my character plus some RPG and cash. Got one on Wednesday that was only $4000 and 2000rp.

The crates are crap, the battle to get the crate used to be a lot of fun, but most people ignore them now.

The first crate drop you see is worth it if you want to get the T shirt. My first was great, got cash and a mini gun, so had a bit of fun with that till it ran out.

 

My second wasn't so good, just rp and some cash.

 

I'm only bothered about getting one more on my second character who has not got one yet. Otherwise I don't bother about them now.

Get a chopper and take the opportunity when it drops. Don't go for it if it hasn't dropped yet because chances are when you get ready it won't ever drop.

 

Just go for the ones that are on the map ready to be picked up. Don't wait out te countdowns.

hrm, ive only ever seen a few special crates since game release and most ive gotten was 5K, did they up the spawn rate and increase the goodies? sweet if they did!

For the shirt and the award, yea I think it's worth it, but otherwise it's not. Grind for a couple of minutes and you'll earn way more than with a crate drop - special or not.
