Everyone almost looked the same, there is no way to choose different types of character facial.

 

We don't have the option to change the character's face of how it looks.

 

Changing the character's eye, boobs, and height?

 

It's so stupid that everyone character's face is almost identical.

Hell GTA 4 had more options and allowed you to change it whenever you wanted

I don't mind it. Once you get what each grandparent and parent does you can make an alright character.

 

If your using a female character, make sure to set the slider all the way to "Mother" before you start. And if your making a male do that with the father,

The first grandparent (On the left) dictates the most. (Face shape, skin colour). The other grandparent dictates the small details (Nose, Mouth, ears, etc). Don't be worried if your character has a clown mouth though, R* set the default setting to happy, for some reason.

I got a pretty good character from doing that:

I think Rockstar did a lazy job making character creation.

 

The family tree is annoying.

I was optimistic at first, but there really isn't enough parents to make your character to look exactly to your liking. They should add something simple like a way to slightly alter the shape of your character's nose, eyes, cheeks, chin, brow and neck.

I remember creating my first character back in October and thinking "wtf is this sh*t???"....it's a piss poor character creator...one of my only big gripes with this game

After I tried the heredity system for a while and got discouraged, I started hitting "random." Then I picked the first good one that came along. But the randoms must be presented in the same order for everyone, and everyone must have selected the first one, like I did, because many of the Snapmatics I see look like my character.

I loved the sh*t out of APB before Realtime closed down. I've played a bit of APB: Reloaded, but the graphics just got wrecked and everything looks like garbage. But, like you said. The character creator (hell, all the customization in the game) would be right at home in GTA. A robust character editor, the ability to add decals, symbols and multiple emblems to your cars, and even take that same concept to every item of clothing. I'd like to see some of that stuff come into GTA, but y'know. Rockstar'll be Rockstar.
