Car Engine Noise

Why are all the cars SOOOOOOOOO quiet?

Even the Blade, which is a "gasser" which are muscle cars that are supposed to be stripped out and uninsulated. Yet I can barely hear the rumble of the V8 and barely anything when it's idling. Why do they get up to a certain gear and let out a annoying droning noise?

I usually turn on my Surround sound system for GTAV/Online, then turn off the radio just to hear the growls and roars. Aren't there settings in the menu for equalizing?

Car sounds don't bother me. However, I wish the choppers would roar like a lion.

The Buccaneer is also a pretty bad offender. If it doesn't get adjusted by the time of the next gen release, I'll take the engine sound files for the PC version and boost them.

When a turbo charger is louder than your 440ci V8, there's a problem.

they should change the v8 cars from turbo to supercharge .. and you actually hear the supercharger whine and squeel

I wish we could hear the straight cut transmission. You can kind of hear it in cars like the Entity, but it's nothing as cool as this

Also, I don't like how they re-use the same dozen or so engine sounds that we've already had in this game for all of these new cars they're putting out.. it gets old.

While there are some cars that are too quiet, there are also some cars that are loud enough. :)

Pheonix/Ruiner are good examples of cars that are really loud and sound great. I guess the Sabre as well, but the exhaust note on that car is too burbly for my liking.

Yeah. The Buffalo MK2 has a nice loud rumble too.

OP: Totally agree. For a game with a title about cars, R* really cant get the true sound and feel. They put more effort into the looks then anything else. But then again, R* cant even implement a separate brake or reverse button.

The only car in game that is loud enough is Karin BeeJay XL from mission Complications - unfortunately you cannot keep it , once you switch characters or put it into garage its engine noise will be back to that quiet boring vacuum noise.

PS: it has also a better textured interior with visible seatbelts

Yea, the turbo blowoff is louder than the engine and the fully upgraded exhaust. LOL

A Maned Wolf

The pigalle is pretty f*cking quiet......

For a Maserati sourced V6.

The only reason I don't own a buccaneer currently is the lack of sound. They need to put franklins or the sabre sound file on that big block sucker.

Also the Tornado needs the file from the Vigero. If you are reading Rockstar (and I know you are) make it happen :).

I noticed with a fully modded Warrener there is a really distinctive wind down sound after a realesing r2

The Blade actually sounds beautiful...

Turn off your radio and just listen to it when you are driving, The radio on make the cars engines be quiet unlike with it turned off

Start popping the hood on these cars and you will learn why there is a sound difference. Almost all of the muscle cars are carbureted, which you can tell by the big air filter sitting on top of the motor. While the Buccaneer doesn't have this feature plus you'll be able to see more "wires" which indicates that it is fuel injected. And there is a huge difference in sound between these fuel/air delivery methods.

I agree with this so hard it hurts. Not to mention I was really hoping for some sort of manual transmission this go around.

The Declasse Vigero sounds nice and it really rumbles and what's  is if you push forward on the right joy stick the camera will zoom in and the exhaust gets louder

99% certain that that's the turbo blow off. :colgate:

Well it happens after the blowoff. It sounds almost like the gears just grinding away.
