Why is it that if I finish a minute ahead of someone but they get 10 more points than me they win?

Why include the timer at all? :s

I don't really have an answer to that but I must admit I do a lot of jumps on my own as waiting for a lobby to fill can take ages. I know I rely on the timer as some jumps have mediocre payouts but the longer your jump the more you get paid. I love to take in the scenery as I jump instead of trying to land fast. Land after 4mins or so and you net about 6-7k instead of the usual 2-3k. RP increases also per minute.

R* must expect you to enjoy your jump instead of racing to the landing zone. They seem to base it on accuracy. Either way I'm always last to land in a jump, although I don't take the piss when jumping with others. I will tho always wait for the turning of a new minute before landing as it increases my payout. :-)))

I jump at least a minute after everyone because some annoying kids like to bump into you which COMPLETELY screws you over. Good thing the timer doesn't effect your points or anything

I like to actually sky dive as long as I can without pulling my shoot I guess I do it for the thrills while you do it to relax

Because you sucked and just raced to the bottom, whereas they hit all the checkpoints better.

 

The timer gives the win in the extent that two people tie on points. If you and the other guy nailed every check dead on, and wafted in for a perfect touchdown, you'd have a tie.. But because you did it quicker, you'd win.

 

Its not rocket science, perhaps you should've observed before you just came to the Interwebs to whine about it?

Like others have said it's for being a tiebreaker. You don't even have to go through all the checkpoints, you can just skydive straight to the finish it's just pointless unless the others have died and got DNF'd.

You can finish way after the others as long as you get more points, and you'll win. You can't just go straight for the finish and get there first - that doesn't work.

I didn't race to the bottom, I just didn't pull my shoot until missing a checkpoint was a possibility, sorry but I dont see how finishing a minute ahead and not even a full checkpoint shy of someone else is bad.. then again you just sound like a bitch so Im not gonna take it personally
