Mental State Madness

I like the idea of the mental state in that it gives you a lot of unwanted attention for killing other players, but I think it's a little ridiculuous that killing cops and pedestrians also raises the meter. I mean c'mon this is GTA we're talking about. Nobody plays this game abide by all the traffic laws and be a model citizen. People play it to break the rules they already have to follow on a regular basis (or atleast I do). So it doesn't seem right to penalize them for having fun, and then getting stuck in a lobby where they are stuck with a lot of pkers. Just make the meter for people killing people and keep it simple.

Killing is killing. Not sure the problem.

keep it in your pants and it won't rise.

I agree

it makes no sense to become a psycho when killing NPC'S in free roam

while the mental state decreases when killing NPC's in a mission

When overly-sensitive cops start trying to gun you down with laser shotguns because you have one star on you it's hard not to.

And thats what a crazy person would say..lol

Just saying. I can stay white dot all night if i choose to. Its not hard to just not shoot and not start sh*t.

Besides, the only real thing annoying about this is the constant "WARNING" you get when you kill anything as a white dot.

I know it's not hard to not start sh*t

but why should we be "punished" for starting sh*t with random NPC's in the first place?

the mental state indicator was designed to give players an quick insight into eachothers playstyle

now the main use for this would be to judge player interaction

but the fact that NPC'S count as well kind of ruins this.

I don't care how you act towards NPC'S, kill them all for all I care

what I want to know is how you would most likely act towards me.

and right now a red dot or white dot doesn't really tell me anything.

See... I don't see it as punishment. I see it as a reward for being a nut bar,.

If im going nuts killing everything and everyone i love seeing it get redder,... The redder the better.

What i hate is the fact that it goes back to white so fast.. Because then i got to read those stupid "WARNINGs" again.

For me it works fine. Redder dots tend to cause more mindless mayhem. Which is the main point of it.

I cannot possible "this" this enough. It's only a punishment if you see it as one. Otherwise it's a notifier that signals other players to watch themselves around you. Even if you're just killing police officers or pedestrians, which is still considered psychotic even in the GTA universe, odds are that if you're bright red and a ticker is popping up on everyone's screen that you're going psycho, that you're in some heat.
