Misunderstood Posted June 21, 2014 Share Posted June 21, 2014 I've never done the gate glitch as I was off GTA V for a while and didn't really know about it. But why did they fix it? It seemed harmless and fun to do. It was kinda like the swingset glitch in GTA IV. Which brings up my point, why did they never fix the swingset glitch (and the thousands of other glitches in IV, some that were harmful and gave players an advantage) but fixed this harmless gate glitch in GTA V which was hurting no one. To top it off, there are a million other glitches in V that they should focus on so why did the zone in on the gate glitch? There were plenty of glitches that never got fixed until this patch (1.14), all Rockstar is doing is making it so the game has to be played the way it was meant to be played, bug-free, glitch-free, exploit-free, etc. They don't care if it's harmless or not, if it's broken, then they will surely fix it. The reason the swingset glitch wasn't patched in IV was probably because GTA V had way more problems when it launched, therefore they only need to focus on V. Since IV came out there was only 4 patches, meaning not a lot was broken, plus it didn't have an Online mode (it has/had multiplayer, but not the same kind of Online as GTA Online). Good question, Rockstar works in mysterious ways so who knows why they turned their attention to this instead of something else. I'm sure it extended someone's playtime a bit. In all honesty, glad it's fixed. Glitches like this are just ridiculous and make the game look bad. They serve no other purpose. Ouch. Racecarlock Posted June 22, 2014 Share Posted June 22, 2014 I think rockstar is starting to bend to the same "Play the way the developer intended" bullsh*t that keeps popping up in the forums here but is also present in battlefield 3's heavily scripted crud. The problem with developer intentions is that players want to have fun in any way they can. And I see no reason why any of us, the players, should give any f*cks about how they want us to play.
