Off-road vehicles

Why are they so slow offroad?

Who was the brilliant genius behind that logic?

There's just a percentage speed reduction applied to all vehicles when going off road, and it affects all vehicles equally, regardless of them being road or off-road cars.

R* just being lazy is the cause.

You do know that in real life 0-60 or to any speed for that matter is always slower on off road surfaces right? Maybe rockstar didn't implement this the best way they could but it is realism. Even an entity will go slower off road and that's just realistic. Nothing wrong with this.

Everything goes slower offroad. You just notice it more with vehicles that aren't fast to begin with.

Plus in reality if someone was stupid enough to take a GTR down a dirt road it WOULD be faster then a car that's naturally slower. In the game you don't care about damage so it doesn't effect anything.

When it comes to outright speed, a fast vehicle is a fast vehicle no matter what. Ground clearance and tire choice is the only thing stopping a a supercar from being the worlds fastest dune buggy...

Plus there is no simulation of "mud" so there is no worry of getting stuck. I wish there was tho.

That's not quite true,

If a sports car tries to speed off on a dirt road it's just going to wheelspin and slide all over the place. Meanwhile a 4x4 off-roader will grip better and so accelerate faster, even if it has less power.

Lol yeaaa but you do realize cars that are like 2 inches from the ground shouldn't be good at driving on off-road surfaces in real life also =P. It'd f*ck up their engine either way, and slow it down since they're not made for off-road. As for off-road vehicles, they're made to handle that stuff sooo.
