SMGS

Does anyone ever use SMGS in general? (During a mission/free roam war/ or DM's) or are they just considered obsolete since the Assault rifles are better in everyway? Oh and

 

Assault shotgun OP, because this can't be an official "Rexpower" thread without me complaining about something for my loyal fans.

 

 

So with that being said, what's your guys take on the SMGS?

 

Are they worth the extra $$ spent on them or just garbage?

I use them from time to time just for kicks...I once won a one-on-one dm with the micro smg...sometimes I'll try and do missions with it too

I usually use the MP5 or Assault SMG, the micro is too crappy for my tastes.

I don't see the point of them in close range either since anything up close is 1sk or 2sk to the head

IMO they should be more accurate. Or atleast a fire rate increase. AP pistol sh*ts on the Micro for car fights.

The only reason ARs are so good is because their reticules are opaque, thick and very easy to see. The SMG's reticules are translucent and you'll very often find yourself losing them during heated gunfights. If R* fixes this, SMGs will at least be competent.

The only reason ARs are so good is because their reticules are opaque, thick and very easy to see. The SMG's reticules are translucent and you'll very often find yourself losing them during heated gunfights. If R* fixes this, SMGs will at least be competent.

 

That depends on what reticule you use, but youre wrong as th Assaults rifles outclass the SMGS in every way (Damage/accuracy/firerate) Range isn't important because theyre SMGS lol.

yep, on my second character I use it in fire fights with other players

I have found it has decent range compared to other weapons

In missions? Yea I use the micro smg every now and then. I use it for gang attacks as well so I don't waste my assault rifle ammo. I always use it in the early rounds of survival too. Against actual players? No.

They should add more SMGS. I rarely use them, especially for close quarters. That's when my Assault Shotgun comes into play.

 

Or they should atleast make them better. Whats the point of em if Shotguns rule the cqc while assault rifles own mid range?

i use them in gang attacks, theyre too f*cking underpowered to use in actual pvp, especially against people with maxed health stats (anyone over 100)

The Mini-Uzi and the Gusenburg are my two favorite, the MP5 and the Hybrid SMG seemingly just don't seem as fun to use compared to the hipfire guns.

I saw it mentioned earlier in the thread and thought I remembered it being an SMG, but common logic is that a Tommy Gun is the exact opposite of an SMG.

it fires .45 ACP (pistol) cartridges though with the damage the thing has in this game it sure feels more like an MG or something

I made a few DMs with them. My favorite one being UZI 9MM. It's only 4 people max and on a tiny map but the simplicity and smallest possible map-size makes it great!!

The gusenberg ammo is the same as the mg ammo in game, that's the only reason I don't use it so often - expensive ammo!

The people who develop this game have very little use for anything out of the real world except for exterior appearances. The Gusenberg is a machinegun, as it uses the machine gun ammo.

 

It may simply be semantics, but the point is made.

LOL, the fact that the real Tommy Gun uses .45 ACP makes it a sub machine gun. More to the point, I use SMG's at a certain range, between shotgun and assault range, all the time. They are quite effective. PvP free roam death matches usually take place at a greater distance; requiring assault rifles.
