Mission Failure and Other Bugs

Here's a list of a number of very annoying bugs I've noticed and a short description of what happens when they occur:

 

1. Base Invaders Mission Failure. You blow up a Lazer and the message reads: "Mission failure, you blew up one of the Lazers."...Doesn't make any sense since that is one of the objectives in the mission.

 

2. Base Invaders Mission Failure. The missions ends, and says you've run out of lives...Problem was that there were still had 3 people left trying to complete the mission when we failed it for running out of lives.

 

3. Mixed up with Coke Mission Failure. You blow up a cement truck, and the message reads: "Mission failure, you blew up one of the cement trucks."...This is basically just like Base Invaders Lazer failure, where mission is setup to fail. I've also noticed this in a few other missions before, but I can't remember which ones.

 

4. You blow open the doors of an armored truck and no money drops. If you're gonna put them on the map, please put something in them.

 

These are all I can think of at the moment, but some of them have been around since GTA online launched.

Just thought of another one:

 

When you go to a green circle where a crate is suppose to drops and sit there for 20 min with nothing happening. Just like armored trucks if you're gonna put it on the map please make something drop.

These are because you are not activating the yellow mission markers first.

 

In the case of Base Invaders, you must get into Ron's plane first before you can even

think about infiltrating the base and blowing up the jets otherwise it will fail you,

the same happens with Mixed Up with Coke, if you don't go into the compound before

starting to shoot it will fail you the first truck you destroy.

 

The Armoured Cars can be due to the location of the car, sometimes it will spawn

the bags underneath a bridge etc.

 

Crates are well know but don't go sitting in the green circle otherwise they'll never

drop.

If the yellow markers are the reason why they're failing, then that's the bug that needs to be addressed. It would be a lot easier if they would just get rid of the yellow dots all together. Most of the time the things lead you right in the middle of an ambush anyway. Just put the objectives on the map without the stupid dot, people are gonna know where to go when they look on the map and see what or who needs to be destroyed, stolen, or killed. As for Ron's plane, that should be an optional avenue to get to the military base, or just get rid of that as well. Let's face it, it's not that hard to just jump the hill into the fort if need be (course I just use the attack buzzard myself =P, but I used to hill jump in before I had it). We shouldn't have to work around the bugs to play the game. I'll have to remember the armored car glitch, but most of the time when I hit them I'm not on a bridge. Thanks for the heads up on the crates, although it seems very misleading to tell everyone where the crate is going to drop and then not drop it when you're too close to the sight.

 

I also had another glitch on Base Invaders, where I landed the cargobob close to Trevor's airstrip got out of it to call a car from my mechanic. Then when I got back in the helecopter instantly started on fire and was destroyed when it was in perfect condition before I got out. To whoever reads this: do Base Invaders at your own risk it's super glitchy.

Yeah yellow markers can be the cause and I know they have their faults but they were put in I

think because R* were not happy at people doing things out of order in the missions and in

some missions cases getting easy money.

 

Base Invaders is the prime example here, the old way used to be that you'd not go to Sandy

Shores airfield for Ron's plane, just blow up the planes, grab the Cargo Bob and fly back

land at airfield, get in Ron's plane and then out and mission completed, now it makes you

do the first step as any mission should.

 

As for the Cargo bob being destroyed, yeah that was indeed a bug in the mission but that

risk is in all of them as anyone who plays Docks to Stocks 1 & 2 would know with the crate

lifting machine catching fire...

Actually, those 'explanation why you fail' didn't type itself. So Rockstar should work off their logic to anticipate player's way of executing tasks.

 

There are more mission bugs which obviously intentional since 1.13. I don't want to rewrite them again. I'm tired.

The missions are time activated. Some missions without yellow triggers will allow you to complete Act 2 before Act 1 is done (example:Trash Talk, Chopper Tail) but most mission are time sensitive and trying to work ahead is not acceptable (Rooftop Rumble). When you activate the yellow makers thats the mission cue to trigger actors and objectives. There is no way around around it.

So in the case of Rooftop Rumble when the car spawns with the documents, all the characters are shooting the other two cars and all of a sudden mission failed... The documents were destroyed! How does that work if no one was near the doc car? :/ this has only happened to me once whereas the glitch for mission failed out of lives has happened far too many times to remember (even though all the players were in the mission still and I had 3/4 health left :/

 

Seem to be banging our heads against a brick wall with R*
