Ready for Paid Content in GTA: Online

  1. 1. Will you pay for additional GTA: Online content?

    • Absolutely.
    • Only if it's REALLY GOOD Content.
    • I will never pay for additional GTA: Online Content.

I'm kind of sick of the monthly Online updates (I know, shocking). I always check them out, take a look at the cars, fire a shot or two from the new weapons, buy clothes, see the new hairstyles, watch the new masks on YouTube (because the beach is too far away), and that's it. 30 minutes of content is supposed to occupy me for a whole month. I'm better off playing without them (like literally, I'm playing since launch and didn't buy/use 2 items came with updates).

People always use the same excuse against the ones with the same opinion like me: but it's FREE!!!!

Yeah, that's exactly the problem!

I wouldn't mind paying $5-10 for updates that actually expand the available activities in Los Santos a little more. I'm not even talking about opening up the casino (that's for the major story DLC), but little things like a new race mode (drag racing) with it's own unique gameplay mechanics or a mission creator. And how hard would it be to add other minigames, ones that already excised in the past?

This is why I hate free-to-play games too. If I see a good concept of a game, I'd like to get a full-packaged product, not a half-assed excuse labeled as F2P.

I don't need free stuff, let me pay for quality content. Free things always come with a skidmark (the kind found in underpants).

You nicely summed up exactly how I feel on the regularly released content. New content that doesn't get boring within an hour is drastically needed. I want something that will want me to keep coming back to GTA: Online as currently every time I play I ask myself, "What is there to do" as everything their currently is to do, I have overplayed by now.

If I think it's worth my money, then I may consider purchasing it.

more than likely not because I was very disappointed in the lack of story in TLAD as well as TBOGT. But I loved undead nightmare on red dead.

I've been supporting the dlc from day 1... I would no doubt pay for more quality content

If you really think about it, nothing changed since launch. Cars, guns, clothes, and a few more races/DMs/LTS/Capture/Hold/Raids were added, but nothing significant. The creator was good, but until R* actually adds something real and game-changing, (like HEISTS) I'm not paying for anything.

Most games have a ton of DLC that generally is not (IMO) worth the price.

If Rockstar were to add non-free content to the game, I'd be okay with it if they did it like Blizzard does in World of Warcraft. I'm sure there are other games with similar models but I don't play many others.

Actual expansions that increase the size of the game world with more activities. Yes.

Special editions of the game or it's expansions which have exclusive cosmetic items (like the cars in GTA V and mounts/pets on WoW).

Optional services which in this case could be unlocking additional character slots. Also yes.

Vehicles? No. Unless they're purely for fun and aren't great racers or combat vehicles.

Weapons or other practical equipment? No.

Clothing, things like customised license plates (in an alternate dimension where they weren't already customisable for free with the iFruit app)? Sure.

IMO, if you buy a game you should simply have full access to all the things it has to offer and be able to compete with anyone else in the game. With the exception of aforementioned exclusives for special editions or cosmetic DLC and whatnot, you should have access to it when you've bought the game legally. This is also why I dislike most F2P games. They'd like to have everyone think that their game is free to play when in many cases a free player is basically playing a trial version. For a great example of that, check out APB:R. I'd much rather pay full price for a game and just be able to do everything.

EDIT: Features that were promised before game launch should also not come with a price tag. Withholding features so you can charge for it later? Dick move. Even if the features or the content wasn't ready yet, don't make people pay extra for something that should just come with the game. Such as heists or the stock market.

i'd pay for a larger/third or forth garage

Something like this would be pushing it, IMO. Unless it's cheap. Between 1 and 5 dollars. Above that I would find unacceptable.

I'd pay for Story DLC or the ability to go to North Yankton in Online.

New game area's could be part of expansion packs!

New Islands, new interiors, aircraft carrier & intricate missions would all be worth $

New islands are inevitable in my opinion and I think rockstar would be interested to see if it's a sustainable business model.

Would pay for features but not items, but would be pissed at the prospect of paying for features that should have been there from the start anyway...

Doubt it. Nothing left to do. Buy cars, fully mod them, go into a freemode for some griefer in a tank to blow them up, then come here to complain about it? Nah. Even sniping people from rooftops has lost it's excitement.

The content I have to pay for better be damned exciting if I dish out more money for this game.

Because there were human beings with money at the dawn of time, right?

I'll never pay for DLC for GTAO on 360/ps3 as I'm adamant it's only a beta. I'm convinced that is why all updates have been free so far. On PS4/XB1 it depends on the mindset of R*. If the game ethos doesnt change much when ported then it's a NO for bought DLC on there also.

Hey...agree to disagree...I love V and I want ALL OF IT.

Depends on what it is. Cosmetic items like clothers/accessories? No.

Extra weapons/vehicles? Depends on the specific items in the pack.

Story missions/extra content? For sure, instant buy.

So yeah. Story mode content, especially if it is like the Red Dead zombie DLC or the GTA4 episodes, is an INSTANT buy, no question.

As long as it brings nothing to GTA:Online which could be considered an unfair advantage, such as Best-in-class vehicles, or over-powered weaponry.

I'd like some vanity items for purchase. Maybe some new head models? Short, fat, muscular characters? Bigger breasts or backsides?

Yes go ahead and get it out of your system now...you could go back and copy paste the posts from when I posted that I was gonna buy the CE BEFORE the game came out and no one knew anything about it.

Only if it is North Yankton or Los Santos of the Living Dead. I joke they should add werewolves on full moons, too, but seriously, something actually a little outside of the box would be refreshing after these rather thoughtless DLC. The Hipster update was probably my favorite though since it has some interesting cars at least. I don't want to whine too much, because it is free, but do you want two pieces of teriyaki chicken on some toothpicks or do you want to shell out $10 for a full plate? I suppose people lean both ways.

Im ready to purchase downloadable content, but Rockstar needs to lock their servers down seriously. Im not paying 20-40 for anything some asshole can have access to a day before--- or glitched into their garage same night for free.

Not until I get at least 200k-300k that R* owes me. Been waiting for a response from support for over 5-6 weeks...Even if I don't get what is mine, I would at least be willing to think about it if they in fact actually responded to me.

Funny though, I wrote them about copyright infringement and got a reply back with a day or 2.......

As long as it brings nothing to GTA:Online which could be considered an unfair advantage, such as Best-in-class vehicles, or over-powered weaponry.

Then what the [email protected] is the point? There has to be a reason to get people to pay for it........durp.
