Why have crate drops died down?

Idk why they stopped putting them on, especially special crate drops everybody goes crazy for those. now its rare to see a crate drop compared to before where it was almost in every session.

Kinda off topic, but are they really useful to anyone over rank 90?

 

I only ask because I rarely see anyone go for them and when I

they do its a bunch of low level players who fight over it.

I just got one with $4000 and 200rp. I saw 5 drop in that lobby. They, are currently cranked up for the Hipster update. You have to be in a public lobby.
