Do you think there's a reason to have unnecessary interiors?

  1. 1. Is a good idea for the game having useless interiors?

Recommended Posts

Like Franklin's house (the one in Davis and the one in the hills), or Michael's house, or Trevor's trailer and the condo of Floyd in the beach. All of them are unnecessary interiors, there are unreachable (unless you use a glitch) and in the end of the day they consume memory in the game, so what's the point in having them?

Like another bunch of interiors, yeah, probably a few will be used in later updates (like FIB and IAA buldings, or the labs and industrial zones for heists).

My point is, if Rockstar remove all the space isn't even used, maybe a DLC like the Casino one would be implemented with minor fails. Or something like that, in my opinion, is not the past generation (PS3, X360) the one limited, is Rockstar not using the memory of the game at it's fullest, there's no point in having Franklin's house in online if we can't reach it. And if North Yankton was able to load, a casino won't be big deal...

Anyway, I want opinions as well...

I think they should be opened up like they were in IV online, (at least TBOGT)

One of my favorite parts of that game was having cop battles in these areas, and finding new interiors that I didn't know were there.

I agree it's silly to have the interiors available online only through a glitch.

This game is missing interiors badly, deathmatches outside are becoming bland. For me a lot of GTA is about those shootouts in complicated interiors with lots of cover.

Um, the interiors are for single player. And if you can't reach them they are not using any "memory" in the terms you're thinking.

I'd like Los Santos to be as immersive as possible, so ideally all buildings should have some interior. Maybe not every home, but every building could have a lobby at least, which you could enter, maybe explore a floor or two, like the real world. And if a few select houses had interiors, imagine the fun trying to find them (and maybe there's cash to be picked up).

Shake 'N Bake

Would be interesting and fresh to just be able to run into any building and learn more about the map.

even if most the interiors were basic it would be nice to be able to enter houses and stuff. miss the days of SA when you could walk in and rob people, would have been awesome to have that in single player and just to have the interiors open online, like someone mentioned above it would make gun fights so muhc more awesome, being able to duck into a house and shoot out the window or run thru a basic layout and out the back door in escape

wishful thinking i know but would be awesome, it would be fantastic if they were able to implement for the PS4 and Xbox1 considering the memory available is going to be a lot more than now

i enjoy the interior deathmatches...

inhumane,

FIB building (burnt out version and the occupied office version)

The Hospital

The Bank

i wish we had a ton more interior matches.

you don't really understand how games work.

the game will even despawn and stop loading resources that are behind you.

what makes you think it's all in memory all the time?

it's not

you probably one of those people who think that if the ocean is so big they could just add more land

as if rendering an ocean loop that gives you the impression it has no end is the same as a fully moddeled map

you even mentioned NY, that explains your doubts.

players who didn't play the intro to keep the NY map in memory and glitch it to online would not see it or interact with it.

you still think we don't have more interiors because the existing ones take space?

....

we don't have more interiors because Rockstar didn't make them, if they did they didn't release it.

what's already moddeled is irrelevant.

You're missing my point. I know the game don't load all the map at the same time, but if we can't reach/use/play/view existing interiors, so why is necessary having them in the game? It's still memory, and if a little interior was almost 200mb... well, maybe I know sh*t about how this works...

Interiors would be cool. One would think we could at least get more of the jobs that are in the "open" buildings. Stocks n' Scares is a good example. If they do release some later, I would bet that they work like instances, 'phasing' people into and out of the interiors. Could you imagine the chaos we might see if a whole lobby had access to the same few interiors? It would make for some good videos, at least...

Wrong Poll option... should only be able to choose once

The poll question is very biased and subjective, as well. Personally, I don't think any of the interiors are useless.

in my book all interiors are 99% useless.

people want interiors but those are just places you may enter once and never come back.

I don't see why the Police Station interior is locked online.

Those interiors are part of the actual map. The actual map will for the most part always be the same.

Interiors that are loaded in to the game, like apartments and garages are not actually part of the map. Sorta like the interiors in SA.

GTA-Freak-Vi

I wish the Lifeinvader office was accessible as it was so detailed, idk why they just decided to lock it(along with other interiors)

Theres also a few night clubs that I'd like to explore and if they had the ability to dance/crew dance-offs then that'd be great.

Just because you wouldn't use them doesn't mean other people feel the same way.

A list of interiors I often revisited in TBOGT online:

-Bahama Mamas

-Hotel Penthouse (great place to go when AFK, people rarely would find you)

-Both biker clubs

-Bank

-Tony's clubs

-strip clubs

That's just off the top of my head, but the point is they were one of the best aspects of GTA IV, especially when you'd find an interior you had no idea was there before. The amount of detail put into them was also very entertaining, makes me want to fire up TBOGT for old time's sake. I actually met a great deal of my GTA friends through fighting cops cooperatively in these buildings

What the hell are you talking about. Interiors are part of the map, just like clouds, underwater or that tree at top of Mt. Chiliad. They could make thousand new interiors if they wanted, but they decided not to.

The issue I have is that the majority of the interiors are already loaded Free Roam but are just locked. It would be nice to be able to go inside them, like in IV.

That said, if you play any of the deathmatches that are in the inaccessible areas, there's a few issues with them. Mainly, you're able to shoot through walls or the floor, and they lack collision data so you're able to just walk through things.

Airport, casino and hotel interiors would be nice. We need not just more interiors, but intricate ones because the indoor deathmatches we can have are some of the most enjoyable I experience.

I like the useless interiors, and I want more useless interiors, and then I want them to be useful. :)

Seriously, a sandbox game should have a balance of exterior and interior. Rockstar stretched it to the limit with the GTAV/GTA0 draw distance, map size, level of detail, and everything else, so there are not enough interiors. I love the interior designs and spaces in the game. I have designed some interior spaces in Second Life and so I like to learn by observing the work of pro's like Rockstar.

As many others have said, perhaps a better tradeoff would have been less underground detail and less ocean floor area, and more accessible interiors. But it's too late now.

My problem is not with interiors, is with the lack of use in them.
