Giving Cameo a proper listen at last. The second track it seems is where Wu Tang got their "back, back and forth and forth" on Gravelpit.
Great tracks. If you enjoyed Candy in San Andreas or Word Up, you might like these tracks from the same album
I can't help but think that the 2nd track (back and forth) would sound a lot cooler without the cheesy Yamaha DX7 thing going on.
Ain't it funky now!
Funky, funky music. Love it.
Odd instrumentation - A larger (probably chambered) LP on lead, and a LP Gold-top on rhythm??? At least the J bass is on point.
Freaky music, LCJ!
More Wild Cherry:
Baby don't you know... the honkies got soul!
I used to be put off by such things... writing them off as too cheesy. I'm embracing it all with Cameo
Some great posts guys. Keep it coming
Not sure is this is strictly Funk, sounds pretty funky to me though.
Monophonics once again.
I could've sworn this was on Space 103.2 in GTAV, but I guess it wasn't.
Did the topic title change?
This is where funk started:
Been a while.
If you want the (lower quality) version with words:
You know your funk, epoxi.
I've been checking out random funk today and found this (probably well-known) gem:
Also found that one of my all-time guitar idols made a lot of fantastic funk:
e: well more like disco... It's almost the same, right?
This is funky:
Epoxi, could you point me in the direction of some funk like "Blue Jeans"? I've been listening to the Fatback band a lot.
Tell me if this is close or way off what you mean.
Close(added to my "funked up music" playlist), but not quite. Need the cleaner sound of the 1980s. Here's another example:
God, what a cool track. Love the bridge, which comes about at 2:00. Talk about using synths right!
Ehhh they're wonderful in their own right, but too R&B for what I'm seeking.
One last attempt:
Here's more of the type, sorry epoxi. This isn't meant as "here's what I'm looking for", as these were to be posted anyway =)
here's some cool jazz-funk
Needs more Johnny "Guitar" Watson.
Johnny was the epitome of '70s cool.
Ohh, that's funky!
