The Funktipus - All The Best Funk - Get Da Funk In

Recommended Posts

Mister Pink

Shut the funk up and just post some funk.

Points to see who famously sampled this Funk Factory track.

Will make the topic fancy looking later.

Something traditional :

Here's my fav, watch the clip or funk off. It's acutally a mix between soul, funk and pop. She made her breakthrough thanks to Prince.

dude I love funk / soul music.

good call brother.

you know who Reggie Watts is, right?

did you know he also used to make serious - and seriously awesome - funk dance music? before he started doing comedy. as far as brand new funk goes, and there's not enough of it, this sh*t is SO dope. you'll love it guaranteed or your faux money back!

Thanks for all the posts guys. Discovering lots of new gems now :)

@El Diablo: Nice one man. Yep, familiar with Reggie Watts but didn't know about his earlier, serious stuff. Really enjoying it. Been liking Chromeo for a few years now but I really should dig up more of their stuff.

@Cosmic: Going to give a listen to them when I get home. I can see some turntables and a double bass. Excited to hear where that's going. EDIT: Amazing! Thanks for posting.

@Tyla: Will listen later... don't recognize those artists, so again, cheers for posting..

This is what Ray Parker Jr. Trying to break his guitar sounds like.

Bridge is a bit weak, but Chaka makes up for that.

People should also check a Monophonics track called Goliath, it's been removed from YouTube.

EDIT: Back to some old school funk, I have to show you this!

If you're any kind of funk I'm sure you know this one. I gotta post it though cause it's one of my favorites.

Here's one that might be new to ya. If so, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Man, I just love that funky bass.

The Fatback Band from 1978:

Also, we have to give Rockstar props - they made sure the funk was well-represented in GTA!

The J.B.'s-"Hot Pants Road" (1970)

Maceo & The Macks-"Soul Power 74'" (1973)

Sly & The Family Stone-"Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" (1969)

Isaac Hayes-"Theme From Shaft" (1971)
