No. Keep the explosive rounds on the P-996. Add them to the Annihilator.

The Lazer does NOT need explosive rounds. Why? Because from the way see it, there's nothing to counter it. All the Heli's are sh*t even in the hands of a skilled pilot. It's ridiculous trying to take it with a heavy sniper only for the the pilot to swoop in and murder your ass with those damn things.

 

Nothing to counter it? Around 9 shots from a Heavy Sniper will poop all over a Lazer.

 

Hopefully one day I will be lucky enough to get into a lobby with you where I can shoot you with the Lazer.

Pfft. Never been shot down before. You need to fly like a maniac when getting away and only fly slow during the entry.

Don't say I'm no pilot because I suck at heli's (stupid camera). This asian's got a private flying license for fixed wing aircrafts.

Actually most people stop sniping once they see black smoke. Then all you have to do is repair the jet which works 100% since 1.13. Not sure if it still works now, but they havnt said its fixed.

The Lazer is just ridiculous in firepower, to me it's like the TBoGT buzzard with everyone spamming rockets, but faster

 

Blame the players, not the game.

I guess, but all I'm saying is. Jets are ridiculous, there's no real way to counter them besides

 

A. Shoot it down with another Jet (GOODLUCK WITH THAT).

B. Use the heavy sniper

C. Wait for them to crash (which I usually do and proceed to literally spawn camp their asses till they leave)

Or D. Rage quit & cry while bitching on the forums.

I actually got shot with what seemed like 5-10 assault rifle rounds, my jet started smoking and a few minutes later the engine started cutting out forcing me to bail out pretty soon after. It's not that hard to stop a lazer.

 

I agree that they should add the explosive rounds to the annihilator though.

So wrong... Heavy sniper only slows a pilot down when until they realise who is sniping them (Use map look at arrow direction)

 

Once a pilot knows who is sniping them they will continue to kill them in less than 5 seconds after every respawn over and over again, then if the jet gets black smoke, go do repair glitch or use blind eye to get a free jet, come back off radar for the element of surprise & bang, another spawn kill session solely on the heavy sniper noob.

Basically you land your damaged jet near a marker (Any deathmatch or race etc), I always use one by the beach away from drama, you leave the nose inside the marker & get out. It will put you in as the host of whatever the match is, you back out & turn your camera around & most times ( Not always for some reason) your jet will respawn brand new.

 

Sometimes it actually does not respawn at all, which is why its good to do it at a location further away, just incase you have to drive to the base again.

I'm on xbox otherwise I would, I want to 1v1 people who are better then me because thats the best way to learn. Anyway, I don't call myself great as I've been flying one for a couple of weeks, but I stick with my statement, the majority of people who fly jets suck. Any noob CAN get a kill with anything in the game.

You cannot really balance the jet in the multiplayer.... Anyone who played GTA IV online knows that the aircraft has always been broken. The problem is not the jet itself but the people who are really pro at it. We can be happy that there are not more pro pilots because then too many people would whine about the jet and Rockstar would nerf the jets. If they nerfed the jet, "normal" players would be no danger at all...

 

The best thing Rockstar can do would be a rocket launcher that locks on aircraft. that would make it quite balanced IMO. A good pilot could still avoid the missiles, but he wouldn't be able to wreac that much havoc around the lobby.

I do not agree, I have never seen a noob get a kill with the Annihilator gun (Blades are ... well...).

 

I have taken so many jet pilots with high K/Ds who are clearly just K/D boosters & have no clue about overall piloting, into Annihilator 1 vs 1 and put them to shame. To me you are not a good pilot in this game unless you can do everything, fly all vehicles very well, dogfight in all vehicles, stunts in all vehicles & recovery in all vehicles i.e. Flying to a safe landing without a tail/ or 1 wing on the Jet.

 

Tonksi is a good example of this...

 

Back in 08/09 when piloting was a skilled community on GTA 4, Tonks was one of the xbox guys who started recording, He came over to PS3 and got destroyed, but it was a different syste & it is what it is. He wasnt the best pilot but he was certainly skilled.

 

On GTA 5 his youtube has got so many views because he started doing tutorials, I partially blame him for all the jet noobs tbh, but meh. Tonks is a good pilot now, he focused more on rounding off his game and bettering everything instead of just flying a jet around thinking hes a somebody.

I personally think changing the cannon is the best thing for the Jet.

 

The pro pilots from IV were beast with the sh*tty annihilator guns, and would destroy any noob pilots. If they change the gun & make it non - explosive, it will not stop the truly elite pilots from getting great kills, But it will certainly reduce the frequency of people going for Jets & trying to Jet grief, because the risk Vs the reward will change considerably.

 

I love flying in the game, but I am sick of scrubs being able to get kills because of how easy the Jets cannon is,if they nerf it, it would be great, the scrubs will be useless in Jets & get no reward, Helicopters will finally be a viable option again and a LOT less dominated by Jets & We would not have to worry about the anti tank thing as tanks got nerfed anyway

whoever said dogfighting with the lazer can't be fun because a one hit decides it, well that's what makes it fun.

just yesterday me and some random spent a good 10 minutes making every twist and turn trying to shooteach other down, no missile lock ons were ever exchanged, we both tried to use and dodge each other's cannon fire as we are perfectly aware how deadly it is.

 

end result was a mid air collision that took us both out.

 

naturally we became friends and went tank hunting together.

 

anybody displeased with the true Air Superiority has a great option, go back to IV

 

or use a sniper rifle like any other smart person.

^I think if they removed the explosive ammo (area damage) and left the damage, it would be alright. But you could still easily kill someone on foot if you're good with it.

They should buff the machine gun of the annihilator and the Buzzard (but Annihilator should still remain stronger), that much for the choppers being a viable option. Hovewer, they may not make them too strong otherwise we'll see the same as in GTA IV lololol

Fixed... You're not a pilot in GTA unless you can show skill in all the vehicles.

Yea , as much as I miss IV ( Cant go back because of modder scum) I do not want to see it become completely pilot dominated again.

 

The Jet right now is just at its mightiest stage & needs knocking down a peg or two. Removing the explosive damage would certainly solve most of the issues as it is essentially a cannon nerf. I do not mind if the damage where to stay roughly the same, I mean it is a jet after all... But its the explosive rounds, because I watch some scrubs flying around & they are clueless just spamming X and getting lucky kills haha.

 

Its just one of those things, it seems like the non-pilots do not understand & definitely do not want a nerf claiming its fine and " takes skill", when actually they are clueless to what pilot skill is, because they have not seen one of the IV pilots on GTA 5 yet, maybe.

How about a pilot in real life? I have a valid private light fixed wing license for 6 more months before renewal and refresher classes. Would I be qualified to be called a GTA pilot or

Jets are mostly annoying but easy to deal with.

 

They are like hawks tying to feed on field mice. Just stay out of the open and they can`t hit sh*t. And if you pop them a few times with a heavy sniper they go back to their nest.

 

I say leave jets alone... They are never a real issue and i don`t care how good a pilot is.
