Getting closer and closer to a blip while driving a car can be an unbalanced death-trap if someone is on foot and decides to lock onto you.

I wish Rockstar would simply allow me to use free aim in auto aim lobbies. We could do that in GTA4. I absolutely hate auto aim. No offense to the people that use it, I just have more fun with it off, and the game is generally less immersive with auto aim. But I would not mind being in an auto aim lobby without auto aim myself. I mainly just want to play missions and fool around anyways.

The way you do it is apply SLIGHT pressure to your trigger button (R2 for PS3 and RT for Xbox360). If you press the trigger and hold it maybe say about a third of the way down, it will put you into an aiming perspective that is zoomed out and doesn't target anyone... You might recognize this as free aim. Lol.

 

A word of advice tho: I wouldn't use it all the time cause you will more than likely get smoked in range of somebody's auto aim (unless you are way skilled in FA). I like the mobility it offers, so I just use it in certain situations where it gives me the advantage, but I'm sure you'll find what works best for you

That's my experience too, people saying free-aim always empty are wrong - this is a new issue

People are having an irrelevant discussion. It has nothing to do with it being easier to switch from AA to FA. This is about matchmaking. As many people pointed out, it's impossible to find sessions with more than just a few people. It was before 1.14.

So, it's one of either:

1. Matchmaking problems.

2. A huge amount of people decided to switch from FA to AA since 1.14 was launched.

To those who think it's the second possibility: what would have made people take this decision?

Free aim was fine before. Not as populated as AA, but it was no problem. Switch session one or two times and you had a perfectly good session. It's not like that anymore, far from. JCPH3, you might have only gotten an average of 3,7 over 5 days, but try doing the same experiment now. Do it, and then come back and eat your words.

2. Seems extremely unlikely, so must be 1.

 

 

I would love to play free aim, you can drive or fly past someone without being immediately killed. It's just a shame that auto aim is the default and that's all I play since I can actually find people to play with.

 

Thats the main reason i play FA. To avoid stupid AA lock ons. But as i said i have to stay in AA to actually get races.

 

So basically i have to use AA whether i like it or not. And im sure im not alone on this.

Yeah, but I don't want to force myself to push the button down just half way to get the experience I want. That would get old, and it would be a little tough to get used to. I'd prefer Rockstar just give us the option.

This is despite us actually trying to discuss an actual problem that affects our gaming experience. This morning i've noticed when you try to join a new session, there is no players around in freeaim and it's still happening right now.

 

Only time i ever was able to join a lobby is with the crew and friends and if i'm lucky enough, i'll come upon one room with one or two people that aren't my friends/crew.

I look down on the gameplay aspect of AA. Not the people. There IS a difference. I also get defensive when people decide to insult me out of nowhere so I tend to insult them back. It's a pretty standard reaction, actually.

Seems as though lots of people are experiencing this issue on both sides anyway though.
