I started out playing free-aim. I enjoy it but face it guys -- it's the betamax (google it) of online gaming. That's why the lobbies are ghost towns. I sat in one for 10 minutes once and nary a soul graced it's doors.

played free aim last night with a full server that gradually ended up with me and 5 or 6 others. night before I was dumped into full sessions. all free aim.

Same here. I play auto aim, but free aim on occasion. Those lobbies are just as full, so I dispelled that myth for myself.

 

To be totally honest, there is no difference between players in either session from what I noticed; there's still griefers, noobs, trolls, modders, tank scrubs, etc.

 

The main difference is that people seem to feel safer in free aim sessions, cause you can walk around without getting headshoted in .025 seconds. Lmao if anything, free aim sessions are faaarrr safer, given that you don't run into that veteran shooter with a dead eye and a mean streak.

The only bad thing about Free Aim is the idiots relying on Combat MG, Mini-Gun, and Auto-Shotgun for fighting other players on foot. Lower levels get screwed when one of these pricks come along. I switched to Free Aim because I got tired of all the Friendly Fire Incidents that killed me, my friends and crew members.

I wish Rockstar would simply allow me to use free aim in auto aim lobbies. We could do that in GTA4. I absolutely hate auto aim. No offense to the people that use it, I just have more fun with it off, and the game is generally less immersive with auto aim. But I would not mind being in an auto aim lobby without auto aim myself. I mainly just want to play missions and fool around anyways.

There are people who get payed a LOT of money simply by playing video games, because they're generally highly skilled at said game. That does in fact matter to them.

I think I had this happen to me once where I joined a mission that was free-aim (I was set for auto-aim). The mission didn't load and I got tossed back to a public lobby with my crew mate (he is set for auto aim). My free aim was still on but his auto aim was on as well. May have been a fluke but I thought it was interesting.
