I use free aim but I really hate it. The only reason I use it is because, according to this forum, free aim is a much friendlier place. I've yet to find anyone to test this theory out on.

 

It's not really. I only go into free-aim with the crew. Rest of the time I'm in auto-aim as it's a lot quicker and cheaper to get through missions.

Yeah not many people know there's other 'universes' for the other aim types.

I went there a while back and yeah it was always a ghost town. I would play free aim if more people did.

All in all though, I KNOW that I'm a good aim, I just can't be bothered, so me using auto aim is me just flashing my VIP pass.

Lol at VIP pass for auto-aimers. It's cool you KNOW you're a good aim, you just can't be bothered to actually do it....so you play in auto aim.

 

You sure have a story about being a good aim. I'm not an expert on stories, but my bro is, you mind if he checks out your story...he'd know for sure if it was cool.

Ironically, this problem will actually make free aim become ghost towns. I know they aren't, because 1.14 didn't give players a reason to change away from free aim. I'm sure it's something to do with the matchmaking, and Rockstar has messed something up in the last update, unfortunately. My biggest concern is that they won't even bother checking this and people will slowly change to auto aim. This would mean I'd stop playing GTAO, as I can not stand being shot out of my car every time I drive past someone.. To me free aim is simply the way to play. Every persons has their own preferences, I guess.

I prefer free-aim but there are several problems for me personally.

All my friends play auto-aim and all their friends do so it's difficult to get anyone to play it.

Free-aim used to be good because you could cruise and use cars like the manana/peyote etc and not die instantly from lock-on but now the few people in free-aim drive around sticky bombing, spam rpg's and only use the mini-gun.

Missions take so much longer and all you get is meaningless extra RP.

I totally agree. This is flawed and Rockstar should look to improve it. At this point, pretty much every change is a change for the better.

Thought firstly, they should figure out what they f*cked up in the last update. Because free aim is ruined. I have literally been trying for half an hour - yes, I do have a lot of time on my hands today - and I have not hit a session with more than two persons one single time. That is except for the one time where one of my friends joined my session and suddenly we were three, yay!

I'm pretty sure Rockstar f*cked up their servers again. I've tried the last couple nights to find a decent server with absolutely no luck for hours. Most of them didn't have a single person in them.

Honestly i`ve spent so much time loading back to single player just to go back online because of having to swap aim mods.

 

 

Basically. Im in FA and i want to race. Now i gotta go back to single player, swap to AA and then come back to GTA O. Which takes about 5 minutes..

 

Now im AA and i wanna play some contact missions.. Now i gotta go back to single player and swap to FA and then come back to GTA O. Again, another 5 minutes.

 

So im pretty much stuck fighting between aim modes to play this game because of it. And people wonder why i hate R* for adding different aim settings.

 

They really need to make it easy it via the phone. Simple AA, TA or FA = off or on. Im so tired of playing switcharoo with aim modes.

It's not a matchmaking problem, its an interest problem. No one is interested in Free Aim! That's not new.

 

I play in Free Aim all the time when I'm doing Buzzard Missions or grinding Coveted, back in April I did a test and recorded the number of people in the lobby each time I checked in. Over 5 days the average was 3.7 , including myself.

 

Just like IRL the Amish are very small % of the overall population

I'll take "spray and pray" over "look in the general direction of a player and hold down left trigger then right trigger until one of you dies" any day.

 

Free aim lobbies usually have a good amount of players. I've played in them since October. After 1.14, all lobbies are empty, not because it's free aim, but because R* fouled up the matchmaking.

The fact that you have to go into SP to change your aim preference is crap. Why hide the option? Why not just let us select it from the phone like in IV, or before joining a session like in RDR and MP3?

 

The people in this forum know where to go to change their aim mode, but what about the other 90+% of the online players? The default is AA, so they never change the setting. Hell, they probably don't even realize that there's a separate world of FA players. They just stick the disk in the system and join a lobby.

I play both so maybe try reading the thread instead of subjecting uus to your unsolicited garbage. No one is flaming anyone (except you). I merely reported my experience of free-aim battles. Guys I've ran into have used a lot more explosives and mini-guns (weapons I rarely use) that I have encountered in auto-aim lobbies.

It's a live and let live thing. Arguing over aim preference is pretty funny. In fact arguing about "dem mad skilz bra" in a video game is pretty funny and rather tragic.

I would love to play free aim, you can drive or fly past someone without being immediately killed. It's just a shame that auto aim is the default and that's all I play since I can actually find people to play with.
