GTA: Offline?

Recommended Posts

I've always been thinking about this idea but never got around to sharing it.. but éh, here goes.

Why doesn't GTA V (or O) support offline multiplayer? It could work similar to COD:BO's combat training - let's say you create your own character, your character gets saved onto your hard drive and you level up separately from your online character and your progress, again, gets stored locally on your HDD.

and... where's split screen? There should be a variety of split-screen modes where the 2 (or more) players play against or with each other. Of course.. to keep the game fair, all players should have all content unlocked, obviously your level 120+ character would demolish your new level 1 buddy competitively.

It'd be nice playing this game without having to deal with the crappy cloud servers, timeouts, freezes, etc.

What do you think?

I support this. I miss multiplayer from San Andreas, even if it was pretty limited. I would also like to be able to download my existing Online character on to my harddrive, because I don't trust the Cloud servers and I want to keep my Online character for after LIVE for the 360 is cancelled.

What's the point of playing an online multiplayer....offline?

just imagine all the hacking and save editing that would be done...

Console probably can't render that many times...

Sugar Free Nos

@Xyn,

Considering the problems GTA:O has.. I think it'd be safe offering the ability to players to enjoy the game without having to sign in and face all the bullsh*t.

Care to elaborate on the hacking part?

Someone could just create a level 8000 save with everything on it and swap their save data.

That's why there were hardly any legit level 50 5th legend players on Red Dead. The save was stored locally, which is a no-no.
