Anybody else disappointed with the Blade?

The other cars I could give a damn about, but I was really looking forward to the Blade... it was one of my favorites in GTA San Andreas. I have to say though... I'm disappointed with it.

You cant really make it look like a good looking lowrider, and with the lifted and bulky front end, it doesn't even make a good muscle car. Done up correctly it makes an OK muscle, but still not near as good as the others. The non adjustable reverse rake is kind of a downer... I get that it's a gasser and it's meant that way... I just wasn't expecting it to be forced as such.

Not saying I hate it... just that it's not what I expected. One thing I do agree with, is that it does have great performance. There's no denying that. I'm sure over time it'll probably grow on me a bit, especially after messing around with it a little more. I guess the biggest part of it is that I was expecting a closer resemblance to the OG Blade.

**THIS IS A LEGIT QUESTION. Don't everybody get bent at me for posting some whiny boo hoo thread, cause it's not meant to be.. altho some people are taking it that way. This isn't the first "are you disappointed with ____ car" thread anyone has posted, and it wont be the last. Im not losing sleep over it, and its bound to grow on me as I mess around with it more... I'm just curious if I'm really one of only a few people.

I like the new Blade. It's wild as f*ck, it has an awesome Classic American vibe to it, and it's one of the few cars that rivals the Banshee's insane mid-drive boost acceleration. IMO lowriders are boring as hell without hydraulics and I'm happy what they've done with the Blade. Besides, just because they've used the Blade name doesn't mean lowriders in the future are an impossibility.

GTA V will never have good low riders like San Andreas, Rockstar forgot how to design them apparently

Actually, they think they need to remake everything about hydraulics when honestly, they could just import the hydraulics from San Andreas and update the graphics, then they'd be perfectly fine.

I was just disappointed with the sound..it needs more roar

I know. The blade in SA roared loudly. R* should have honestly not done anything with the blade except update the graphics. And more importantly, they shouldn't have changed the sound.

Just saying on a side note, Maybe this isn't the same Blade as in SA?

You do make a valid point... it is fast as hell off the line and does seem to have some power. A bit squirrely around corners, but not bad at all. Does need a better sound though... same goes for the Buccaneer.

Im not saying I HATE it at all, and it will probably take some getting used to, and might even grow on me a bit... I'm just disappointed with what it is compared to what it coud've been, and what I expected of it. I don't like that the front is always higher than the rear, even if you lower it.

I'm a big fan of the Blade. Got one after being impressed with the stock version and I needed a racing muscle car and so far out of four races I haven't lost one with it yet but i'm not sure if opponents are retards. (they definitely had custom cars too)

Sorry to be a noob, but what is the mid drive boost?

It's a hidden trick that greatly (but temporarily) increases the acceleration of a car. It only works on RWD cars. I remember watching a video on it. Here it is:

It's really good for rolling start races. I remember racing a random with me in a Banshee and him in an Entity. We honked our horns... Beep...beep...beep...BEEP and I left him in the dust. From my experience, it works really well on the Banshee, Turismo R, Futo, Blade, Massacro, Carbonizarre, Comet and the Feltzer. The method used in this video is a little different than what I do. What I do is: Double tap gas, tap handbrake, then floor it. It does take practice but it works SO well.

Oh, I forgot to mention that it only works affectively up until roughly the third gear. If you're going any faster than that it's better to just accelerate normally. You want to use it at lower speeds.

Edit 2: Holy sh*t, I was dicking around with my Elegy (4WD car) and I got the clutch kick (correct term for "mid-drive boost" curtesy of jjbinks4) to work. You have to hold down the brakes, then hold down the handbrake then release them both at the same time. It doesn't work nearly as well for 4WD cars but it is possible. I still haven't figured out a way to get it to work with FWD cars.

I wanted the Blade to be like San Andreas' lowrider, but I like the new 'gasser' look on it. Hopefully R* adds in a proper lowrider like the Savanna or Remington, maybe a gang themed update with the highly requested bandana masks?

Its called clutch-kicking, not "mid-drive boost"

Right now, I think the Blade may be my personal favorite in the Muscle class. Not sure how it is in races, but the look just screams mid-70's muscle. Even without the hydraulics, it's a mean car that feels great on the road. I could stand for it (or any of the other muscle cars tbh) to be a bit louder, but maybe that'll come in a later patch.

The other cars I could give a damn about, but I was really looking forward to the Blade... it was one of my favorites in GTA San Andreas. I have to say though... I'm extremely disappointed with it.

Oh well... guess I'll wait for a classic muscle or old school lowrider DLC... if one ever comes :dozing:

... at least I wont spend any cash...

Hmm that interesting to say. From my personal experiences, it smokes basically any car in freemode or a race. Its braking is horrible and understeers a lot at high speeds but that is to be expected. I love the Blade especially for this fact. It is one of the, if not the only vehicle in a GTA game where its relative speed/acceleration and handling is very accurately portrayed.

I don't remember the blade from past GTAs, so it's a whole new car to me and its easily my favorite american car. I don't see it as a lowrider what so ever considering it's based off a 1965ish Impala...

Its overall body shape if based off of the 1964 Ford Falcon, with the rear bumper from a Ford Fairlane, and the grille as well as lights from a 1960 Mercury Comet.

TEXAGGIE-12thMAN

It's a 1960's style Gasser dragster. The front is jacked up to put more weight on the rear. This car has no intentions of being a vato low rider. You wanna beanermobile go get a coyote
