Just noticed that their is a new "Press Y for Event" option while loading up GTA V now alongside "Press X for Online".

 

Pretty cool little addition.

 

Update: Using this new option throws you right into a Event Playlist via GTA: Online.

Event weekend race: More Hip In My Whip

This job celebrates the Panto. 100% legit. No glitches. Dynamic environment, Traffic, pedestrians, jumps, wall riding in the tunnels thanks to this lovely car and INTERIOR Racing! I love this race.

So all you need to do to get the shirts is be online today? If I was online but didn't. bother with the shirt can I still get it on the weekend?

Nope. All shirts are Friday, Saturday and Sunday exclusive respectively. Go and get yours right away!!

I'm just gonna throw a little self-promotion in here, which has the disturbing possibility of backfiring terribly, but whatever... I can't deny the fact that I really want to have the stupid HIPSTER custom plate, because.. sh*t, I've been acting this way my whole life, why not let a sh*tty online game force me to embrace the fact.. So, with that if you all wouldn't mind but giving the following two snapmatics the big thumbs up?

Got first in events 1 and 2, second in the parachute event. The last one I just exited to freeroam mid race because some idiot ran straight into the back of me, sending me into a river. A catch-up enabled race in a front wheel drive, 70s sh*tbox francenmobiel? No thanks, R*.

 

All in all not bad for a change of pace, though ultimately a waste of time. Made about 24k.

I originally thought you would have to win at the event to unlock the vintage tees but apparently not, is there anything that comes out of the event or no?

So I keep trying the playlist today and i get the cargobob crate one with 1-16 with something like "the 260,000,000 mission. Is there no playlist for today?

Ah, was hoping they'd change the playlist because it's terrible. The capture has some nonsensical weapon placement and looks like it took about 5 minutes to make. The race is also terrible with the default settings (Traffic on in a race with a long two lane section that features numerous blind corners). They should have just made all of the jobs double GTA cash so people could play whatever jobs they enjoyed.

I really hate the race, the track plus traffic plus the terrible car choice, (seriously, I've never hated anything more than I hate the pigalle. They could have chosen one of the other cars added with the update, one with better turning), makes me dread the race part.

Is the only way to join the event playlist to choose the event option when you load up gta? Once the playlist is done and I'm dropped into a session, any playlist I try to join from that session is a normal player made one.

I liked the race because it confirmed for me that whenever I feel like driving the Pigalle, I'll just do it in SP for free. Plus right now it's tough to get me outta the 6x6. Lol

Spending 400K on the Pig will not do it.
