You know who also won't care about heists release for current gen or last gen?

Online heists will magically appear when next gen/pc version of the game releases. Been saying it for a while. No shock.

No one cares. Buy ps4 amd re buy gta. Hesit will come out on ps4 before ps3. Lol imagine if theu release heist ps4 for free and on ps3 for 20$. Well they still promised heist so its not like they lied

What are you even talking about? Buying a PS4 for £400 and laughing when you save about £12. I'd rather stick with the old gen and pay for the Hesits.

Because they clearly stated that planning board IS. FOR. HEISTS.

Ok, then why can nobody seem to find proof to back that up?

On top of that, even if it is true, that doesn't mean that you HAVE to have an apartment with a 10 car garage... I showed a pic of a low-end apartment where a "planning board" could fit just fine.

And that heists will come "soon after release". Or something along those words. Basically, heists were planned since before the game's release.

"Soon" could mean anything, though... If they plan for the game to be around for 5 years, I'd say a year after release could still be classified as "soon after release."

I imagine it was more complex to code or implement than they thought and that's been the reason for all the delays.

Probably. I'm guessing that the money mods around the holidays and things like UFO's dropping into freeroam sessions probably didn't help speed up the process, either.

Biggest hint that there would be heists: GTA V is a game about heists. They showed us a heist in the GTA: O trailer. An actual bank heist. Go look it up.

The trailer is over 3 minutes long... The "heist" part is around 5 seconds in length... About 2.8% of the trailer.

I've seen many things in trailers that experienced delays and even cancellations... Happens quite a bit. That's why I don't sit and micro-analyze every frame of a trailer... Plans can change between trailer and release.

Maybe you remember NBA Elite 11...? Here's the trailer:

...Was never released on game consoles.

I don't sit and micro-analyze every part of the trailer either. It's blatant, it's right there for everyone to see without having to micro-analyze.

I have no idea what on earth you are going on about as they literally just told us today that heists exist and have just been delayed. Everything you have been linked to and pointed to proves that it's been planned all this time. It's been planned since before the game released.

Anyway, back to general and gaming chat for me.

I seemed to find it on the official website easily enough

"Heists

This update will introduce full-on cooperative Heist missions that will require careful planning, teamwork and sharp execution – along with the Heist Planning Board for your apartment."

"We saw a glimpse of the planning room in your apartment too...

Yes. You will get a very similar planning board to what you get in single-player, with all the maps, and the people, and the dots around the map to show you where you're going to have to go.

How do the heists in GTA Online compare to the heists in single-player? Will they be more like the tentpole heists in GTA V, or the 'Blitz Play' mission we saw in the demo a couple of months back?

Initially, they'll be simpler. But we do have plans to set up heists that could contain twenty individual components. A lot of these questions are hard to answer because there's now, and then there's what we have in our heads for the future. But to answer your question: initially, they'll be fairly straightforward heists, but they will get more complex as time goes on."

It's fine if they're delayed; what annoys me is the over-promising. If R* had any concerns about implementing heists, they should have left that feature out of their launch announcements. At this point, it's a huge joke. I'm fine if they are "just glorified missions." I just want the chance to play them.

I think given the amount of crap they were getting for saying nothing before the spring updates announcement, they had to say something. What I hope is that they genuinely believed they would be ready by the end of the month (spring financial quarter) and that therefore they are almost ready...

As for the glorified missions thing - if that's all they are they'd be done by now IMO. I'm not getting over hyped, but there will be some aspect of gameplay that is needing all this time to get right....probably. I hope. Maybe. :r*:

Super-hyped, then when you get it, yeah, cool. Then you realize it kinda sucks and now you're disappointed.

Definitely the new Watch Dogs.

Only just woken up to see this. With the Hipster DLC dropping and the mention of the Hipster weekend it became clear Tuesday Heists would be delayed yet again.

I am one of those people looking forward to Heists still as I believe Missions (and eventually Heists) should be the core Job for GTA Online (as is the case with Story Mode), yet R* are continually withholding releasing either. Less some low ranked, long winded & poor paying missions. Guess we can only take their word that Heists are actually not finished AND they will actually release them when available. It seems to be becoming clearer the vast majority of content has already been prepared and is just being released at scheduled times, hence the ability to drop the Hipster DLC without any previous mention of it.

As for those people going on about Hardware limitations, Heists will almost certainly be done outside of normal free roam sessions in which case you are effectively in a stripped back Invite Only session and things run more smoothly.

"Due to limitations of last gen, we can not release heists on those platforms as it will not be able to reach the level of quality want to achieve. As a result, Heists will be next gen only. Ps3/X360 owners will receive the 'LS gangster pack' which will include a reskinned gun, clothes and a sh*tty car."

Get a job and buy a PS4. Problem solved.

Sorry Bill, you are incorrect on that. Rockstar specifically said that the High End apartment is where you could conduct heists. You won't be able to do them in the lower end apartments.

I actually linked this exact thing earlier... The only thing I'm seeing is "Heist Planning Board for your apartment," nothing about "You'll need a high-end apartment," or any specific apartment to do them in.

While that could indeed be what was meant, I'm just saying that if that indeed is the case (and R* is the greedy corporate swine some people make them out to be, not wanting people to make money in the game, pushing evil cash cards and all), certainly they would have specifically said something to the effect of "You'll need an apartment costing over $200k to be able to do heists"... You know, in order to FORCE everyone to buy cash cards...

I find it a bit humorous that people say "R* said" this and that, when R* has said many things, some of them not turning out to be accurate, like a Spring 2013 release for the game, or a Spring release for Heists. Plans change. In that same article, it was even mentioned that "bear in mind that the order of things may well change, and we will probably add some extra stuff as well!"

Personally, I'm just gonna wait and see. I have two 10 car garage apartments already for both of my characters, so if that is indeed the case, I'm set anyway, as I'm gonna guess almost everyone else is, as well. If it's not, I'm sure we'll hear the complaints from people saying R* FORCED them to buy expensive apartments, when they didn't need them.

What you're getting into is speculation...and I'm not saying that Rockstar couldn't change it to where lower end apartments can plan heists. But once again, that's speculative. We can only go by the facts as they present themselves.

As this poster said and another before him...

The high end apartments have the heist planning boards.

The others do not.

That's why we're saying you need a high end apartment.

As to the rest about people saying it's cause of cash cards...that's speculative as well. Considering it has always been a feature, a feature which can't be utilized, but was there since online's inception...so no a cash card conspiracy over high end apartments is pure speculation and zero fact.

My speculation on why the apartments are the way they are is how you (your characters) are perceived of rank in a criminal enterprise...lower end apartments are for the grunts of the organization, mid range apartments are for the mid level guys, and higher end are for the top dogs who would be the ones to strategize.

Now all that is out of the window (criminal ranking system) as pretty much everyone has a high end apartment...but I think that was the thinking behind why the planning board is only in the higher end apartments.

They really should have called the update the "Here's some sh*t because heists aren't coming out" update. Hopefully we get some meaningful gameplay updates between now and heists instead of extra fluff.

The only "fact" we have is the statement of "along with the Heist Planning Board for your apartment."

Just because the planning board is included with the high end apartments, that does not mean that that is the only way to get a planning board. For all we know, there could be expenditures with a heist, where if you have a high end apartment, you don't have to buy a planning board, whereas if you don't, it would be an additional cost.

The high end apartments have the heist planning boards.

The others do not.

That's why we're saying you need a high end apartment.

That assumes that the only way to get a planning board is to buy a high end apartment... We don't know that that is the only way. It's the only way we know of currently. The addition of heists might add alternate ways to get one.

My speculation on why the apartments are the way they are is how you (your characters) are perceived of rank in a criminal enterprise...lower end apartments are for the grunts of the organization, mid range apartments are for the mid level guys, and higher end are for the top dogs who would be the ones to strategize.

Well, if that was the case and indeed the plan, R* kinda screwed that up themselves within the first month of online, by giving all playes $500k... More than enough to afford any high end apartment. My guess is, almost every player that got that spent some of that $500k on a high end apartment, unless they had one already.

Like I said, the only way we'll know for sure is when the content comes out... If heists require high end apartments, cool, I'm ready and I'm sure most everyone else is, too. If not, it'll allow those who don't like the high end apartments to move to a lower end apartment, without the risk of losing the ability to plan them.

My belief (speculation) is that the heist leader will need a high end apt but people they recruit will not...

They were very clear that you'd need a high-end apt to plan heists. Lester even sends you an in-game text regarding this fact.

THIS IS NOT NEW INFORMATION.
