lol232
Okay, I've heard the physical version of GTA 1 from GTA Classics isn't compatible with London 1961 - and the Digital free download version isn't compatible either. So, my question is. which versions of GTA 1 are compatible with both L69 and L61?

So, my question is. which versions of GTA 1 are compatible with both L69 and L61? OK, so I could be wrong, but from what I understood London 1969 was a stand-alone game, you didn't have to own GTA1. As for London 1961, that was a modification of London 1969, therefore you had to own 1969 in order to play the game. 1961 itself was distributed in a small, stand-alone installer and was completely free. (In case you don't have GTA1 (original version), and/or London 1969, but would like to play either of the games mentioned here, send me a PM & I'll tell you where you can find those)

Only the special edition only available on PS1 was (hence why it was called special edition).PC and non-special edition for PS1 versions weren't stand alone, you needed to get GTA 1 in order to run it. GTA London 1969 was an expansion pack to GTA 1 (mission pack #1), and GTA London 1961 wasn't exactly a modification, but it was another expansion pack (mission pac #2), only available on PC. Now, I know that I can get them for free, but I'm a collected and I want to get the physical version, and if I want to get the physical version, I might as well get one that's London 1961 compatible. Probably not much help, but this one is: Which originally came in a big box but is frequently sold without the big box and is compatible with a London 1969 in a big box with this cover: (Without the Moby Games) Which is compatible with free download of the London 1961 DLC from http://www.rockstargames.com/gtalondon/public/intro/index.html. If getting 1961 is your only reason for wanting the original versions though I wouldn't bother, the missions are unplayable and buggy. Sold Out Software do a GTA + GTAL69 double pack which is frequently sold £1 second hand although obviously the original boxes are much nicer and come with the traditional GTA maps and manuals. lol232
Nah, It's not the only reason I'm getting it, if I'm gonna get GTA 1 and London 69, I might as well get the versions compatible with London 61. Now my problem here is that I'm looking all over eBay for GTA 1 on PC that has maps and manuals, and only one I found was the one with 2 floppy discs, which I find rather bizarre because it says "CD ROM" on the box. The SoldOut Software version has a very low collector's value IMO, so I'm not even thinking of getting it.
Mainline421
I wouldn't buy the one with the floppy disks as it is probably either fake or the actual case and maps with an illegal copy of the game. As far as I know GTA was never released on floppy disks. If there isn't currently an original copy of GTA on PC with all the boxes and maps I would just wait and check regulary one will appear soon. SomeGuy86
Original version might have been an upgrade (as in mission pack), but I've seen newer editions which are definitely stand-alone, just like EFLC for GTAIV. Or you can get a bundled software, GTA1 + London from SoldOut software, for approx. 8$ http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l2736&_nkw=Grand+Theft+Auto:+London+1969+pc If you don't care about the actual disc and/or box, but would still prefer to have the original GTA and/or London 1969, with its full support for Win95/98 & 3dfx patch, then you might want to try with Google. I can't tell you anything more than that, because I don't think it would be legal, despite GTA & GTA2 being abandonware. (feel free to DM me for more info on this issue, I might be able to help you)
lol232
I already stated before that the SoldOut Software version has very low collector value for me. Now, my question here, was, which versions can run L61? Only the original ones from 1997-2000? (and yes I realise I'm bumping a month old topic)
