about the melee system

What happened to having a button for punch and a button for kick? Fighting would be sooo much better and more times than not if im trying to run up and stab someone or hit them with a bat i kick them instead. Am i doing it wrong or something? Lol tell me i am.

Nah I think if they're on the ground it's just random, sometimes you'll hit with the weapon, sometimes you'll kick them. Toe to toe however should always hit with the weapon. Without weapons you punch most often and if they are hunched over or falling it will kick them.

I'm joking, it's all random. Honestly, I'd rather have two separate buttons for a kick and punch. It just makes fighting more "fun."

I could swear it was 2 buttons or more in gta4 and in sa. Its hella annoying when i knock someone down with my car then jump out with bat and run over and kick them 7/10 times they jump up and pistol whip me. Haha i suppose i deserve it though but damn.

There's meant to be a button for kick and a button for a hit.

 

In the tutorial when you fight Simeon (SP) it says Press (X) to kick, (O) to and (Square) to dodge.

When you lock on to someone pressing square will punch them, and pressing x will kick. But without the lock on it's random.

I think the melee lock on works on free aim as well.
