Tank Griefer got you down? Call Lamar!

Recommended Posts

I had a guy in a tank griefing myself and buddy. couldn't get away. killed me something like 4 times before I decided to try to call Lamar.

The mugger had the tank in his sights and while the tanker was looking for my friend to kill, the mugger pulled him out of his tank and rode off with it!!

I proceeded to kill the bastach while he ran "naked" down the street after it.

I then got a call from Lamar stating that they didn't find the target and gave me my money back. I drove up to the waiting tank and proceeded to grief the griefer with his own tank. I had 12 kills as he kept running after his tank, trying to gt me out of it....

Boom! He's Dead Jim. Over and Over.

Was the most fun I had in ages. Griefing the griefer with HIS OWN TANK!!

I was ROFLMAO

I'll never understand how someone gets killed by a tank. They're slow moving and loud, how can you not avoid it when you're driving around the city in your Entitys, Adders, and Zentornos as 120MPH?

All it takes is a brief slow down when wanting to see what the random player is up to alongside a street corner.

How do you not avoid a tank?

Easy. You don't know someone is in a tank, turn a corner, and you're dead. Can happen in any game, at any time.

Anyways, yeah, I tend to call Lamar, but the mugger doesn't usually help. The tank users mostly end up running him over and killing him. Then you gotta wait the 10 minute time limit to call again. BS

You can call a mugger on someone in a tank??? :O

HILARIOUS!!!

In more recent news, I just discovered that the power button on my console turns it on and off!!! :O:O:O:O

You'd probably forget the power button was even there if your console never froze tbh, since you can (usually) just turn it on/off with the controller.

OT: Mugger doesn't work often enough to make it a viable counter measure. It is pretty funny to see the mugger succeed and drive off in the tank though.

Ive done this a few times i was kinda hoping noone would post anything about it either. The mugger is pretty effective to troll people with, usually when i first get into a lobby ill start spectating players on the tv looking for people thats afk in their pv or a tank. Its quite hilarious seeing the players reaction after having the mugger steal their car and drive off. They kinda scratch their head for a min then spend 10-15min or so trying to get it back and by the i can call another mugger.

Protip: call a mugger on people heading back to zancudo for another jet, this worked 10x better before the new lester ability.

Funny thing I was in my tank griefing this little kunt when my controller dies. He called mugger and pulled me out. I got back ran into the building with the outdoor pool and the kunt stole the tank from the mugger. He was firing at me like a retard even though I was in passive and trying to drive into. After realising that wouldn't work he thought he would block the entrance and f*ck off. But I climbed out on to the tank got in and continued to grief.

Pro Tip: Buy a tank, and kill the tank with your tank. Afterwards you can give the Tank to a noob, or use it for yourself in a violent or non-violent manner. Alternately you can destroy it, or get it stuck somewhere.

I had a bounty recently and grabbed a tank to protect myself. I tried chasing an attacker up a hill and got stuck here

Only way to get it out was by blowing it up :(

Maybe it's because of this thing called blast radius. You can still get hit, but indirectly (such as blasting nearby objects such as streetlights, traffic lights, police cars, helicopters; etc).

I even got blown up in high speed and I can avoid car traffic real well.

I have to agree with fail. I can't remember the last time I got killed by a tank.

I literally tease the motherfucker by waiting at the corner of a block and when he gets closer I just drive round the block for a bit. They can't catch you once you're used to their speed (or lack thereof). Whenever I do this, the tank driver gives up before I do. It's a passive aggressive way to grief twankers because you know it's making their shit itch real bad that they can't kill you.

Also call a mugger whilst doing this though, just on the off-chance that it's one of those rare times when it does work.

Could be some serious lagging problems on my end. I do have crappy internet connection at times. I definitely can't get blown up on my Akuma though. I'm extremely agile on this cycle.

That's exactly what I'm normally on. Not the fastest thing in the game (but not far off), but certainly the most agile and the acceleration must leave twankers gripping their controllers with frustration.

Yeah, sure! Its soooo easy... BULLsh*t! You drive around a corner and whats standing there in the middle of the street already aiming at you? why i drove around the corner you ask? why didnt i know whats coming? well u cannot always check the map and the log and the noises, sometimes a tank just happens to be there, right in front of you.

Many people do check the map regularly - I'm one of them. When I'm travelling at speed I quite often double tap down to bring up the larger map so I am aware of coming close to other players. If by some miracle you're getting close to a twanker and it's not totally bloody obviously from the explosions and sirens then you can spot them very easily due to the speed and the way the tank moves, especially when cornering.

Just get into a habit of being more "aware of your surroundings*" and you will not get killed by tanks.

Once you have played this game for a while, you begin to see patterns in player behavior, shocking I know...

But it's not that we know where they are, but we know how to recognize them on the minimap, they'll usually have a very distinct movement, they also tend to cause a lot of explosions so it's easy to hear them coming. Every now and then they get a kill though, like if they're standing still with a bounty, but then you just put on passive mode and get the f*ck away from it.

As for stopping them:

Use your own tank, or just yanking them out off the radar works pretty well.

That reminds me of the only way that I specifically grief people with a tank. I'll just sit there and not move. If you do this people will congregate around you, really sheepishly edging towards you and running away. It can be pretty fucking hilarious to watch. I'm obviously just lulling them into thinking I'm AFK, and eventually one or more of them will make a dash for it to try and jack me off. That's when I "unleash hell*" and kill the lot of them. I usually just drive off after that. If they chase me I kill them, but I'm not a spawn killer. I just like to play with my food.

Indeed, not killing people in tanks can be pretty fun, first they panic when they see a tank, then they'll slowly begin to gather around and circle it in their cars, and every now and then make a move when they think I'm not looking... I find it pretty hilarious when low ranks try to shoot me with their smg's, I always shoot back.

Oh yeah. "Please don't shoot me with your free pistol"

And I've lost count of how many times people have ignored the fact that I've just knocked them over with the turret, and try and run at me again.

Non-aggressive tanking can be so funny!
