I didn't rage quit, I froze!

So tired of freezing in the middle of freeroam warfare, I often assume the other guy thinks they got the upper hand and made me leave the lobby in a huff, looking to save face.. Well guess what A-hole, the only reason I left is because I was frozen listening to my gun repeatedly fire at your face. I can only hope that you died after I froze, though we will never know. Truth is the first casualty of war for real.

 

So this isn't trying to be a bitch and moan, just a support topic for all the ego wounded murderlettes that just want the other guy to know that they weren't running from shiiit.

Ive posted a few question in the questions topic that never get answered cause they are hard and get buried under spam before anyone knowedgable sees them. I doubt most people read that thread in its entirety

I remember getting my ass kicked by some guys in a crew while free roaming by myself, I finally got myself into a better position and started getting my kills back, just as I was about to catch up the game froze. I don't know if I was so angry because I was drunk or because I was so close to evening up the score.

Yeah. I hadn't frozen in months and some punk thought he would "troll" me by killing me a few times. I ended up killing him far more times but he just kept talking crap.

 

Figures, I finally try to leave and let him walk away but he sniped me out of my car as I drove off. Just as I was about to respawn my system locked up and I can only imagine that person felt so satsfied despite losing the initial confrontation. Little bish

To be fair, there are some questions that simply don't have a definitive answer, hence why no one answers them.

 

As for questions getting buried, I agree. More and more people seem to be using the Q&A thread to ask things like "Here's my garage, what car should I buy/sell next?" thanks to certain people redirecting them there.

Story of my life.

 

I got killed once when I was reading a PSN message. I thought I was in passive mode, but I wasn't... I was rifled. Foolish mistake.

 

I swore it had been a high level player, only to read the notification, check the list on the menu and find out it was a guy ranked 20 somethin!

 

Couldn't let that slide. Before I could even open my weapon wheel- it froze. Only hit my ego took is that knowing I couldn't get back to that session to wreck his face.

 

From then on, I try to keep a friend in my sessions so I have a way of getting back to where I was.

Most out the time anyone nearby also freezes so you can be reassured that your opponent is thinking the same.

this game have some sort of psychic thing going on, it just like when youre looking for certain car, the game some how know youre looking for it and would simply stop spawning them, even know you see them everytime when you were not interested.

 

same thing happen with the freeze, it happen when youre having fun, you can be bored to death and the game would eun just fine but the moment it detect and increase in dopamine, baam freeze!

The meaning of Rage Quiting was lost years ago. To rage quit is and only is when a person shows obvious rage over the mic, over messages with keyboard/joypad cracking anger. Today people think that leaving in an annoying situation is rage quiting when it is just common sense to leave something when its annoying.

If it bothers you that this happens, do as someone suggested above and have 'wing-man' (i.e. a friend in the same lobby) - that way you can get back into the same lobby if you lose your connection or your console has a freeze for whatever reason.

 

If you don't have a friend in the lobby, you could send the 'victim/arch-enemy' a message explaining why you left.

 

If they are up for a rematch they could invite you back into the lobby, but you would have to become 'friends' first (on PSN anyway)

I've recently encountered a good one.

As I'm closing in on the unwise who *thinks* they're going to make it, delivering Simeon's wanted vehicle, on the past 4 occasions, when I start shooting this vehicle or getting too close, the entire lobby seems to just, randomly leave.
Of course, it allows me to bag the prize of delivering the vehicle for cash, but an interesting one, no less.

Had this about 20 times. I'm trying to take revenge or just have a normal gunbattle and all of a sudden my sh*tbox freezes. After restarting I usually try to rejoin the player I was fighting against, but since the f*cking lobbies are often full or the player went offline or to a mission, it often fails. The player disappears from my recent played with list and I most likely never ever see him again. That's what I really love. Yeah, my opponent probably thinks I rage quitted.
