Radio stations update?

Me and my friend were thinking, why not have an update to add a few more radio stations? We've listened to pretty much all the songs on the radio. Another idea is for R* to just add fan-favorite radio stations from past GTAs as well. I'd personally love to hear Electro Choc again while cruising with other friends and doing drive-bys on unsuspecting players.

 

What do you guys think? Any radio stations that you would want to come back?

vice city radio, unfortunately, for licensing issues, I doubt they'll be paying for a new catalogue absent a dlc a la tbogt.

It'd be cool if they regularly updated their radio stations and put upcoming GTA news in amongst the ads, It'd be a lot of work though so they'll probably never do it, But I feel like it would feel more like the actual radio if it updated day to day or even just update to update.

I would expect the story DLC that is rolling out sometime this year to have something like this (as did all the GTA IV DLCS). However, until R* confirms this I'm just talking out of my ass

playing music off a usb wouldn't have anything to do with copyright issues, and streaming music to other people is pretty standard in the internet age. Or R* could pony up for ascap fees. All I know is I have a bunch of drill and bounce that is missing off the radio, a lot of it appropriate for GTA lol

Yes, Burnout Paradise allowed the player to listen to their own music.

 

OT: You'll get new radio stations in GTA VI, and/or maybe, just maybe, in an EFLC-style DLC.

Slightly on topic and slightly off. I would be willing to bet that the forth coming PC version will have a custom music station but I'm unsure if the newer consoles will, although they really are just custom built PCs at this point.

Have a metal/hard rock station. That's honestly all I want. I never got why this game didn't have one in the first place, action games and hard rock/heavy metal go together like mom and apple pie. The game's soundtrack just doesn't feel complete without a single hard rock song in the entire game.

I strongly dislike classical music, but since much of it is probably available royalty free (as long as you pick a no-name orchestral recording), it almost seems like an easy one to just make happen.

 

A tiny part of me, the bit that's not blackened and bitter, that's alive and has hopes and dreams in this miserable world, secretly holds out that all the "cut" content songs are being held out for a major update and will actually happen.

 

But, that's really just a fantasy that will likely never happen.

A year from now, it'll be "West End Girls" on every station, infinite repeat.
