Passively trolling players?

I've been bored with the game recently so a few nights ago while listening to some people having fun in the game I thought it might be a good idea to fu k with them. I messaged one of the players and said the guy he was playing with "He doublecrossed me earlier. Becareful bro".

Then I messaged the alleged doublecrosser and said "Kill SwagScope420. he's a LIAR. be careful"

After a few private messages I successfully played these people against each other. Ten minutes later they were killing each other because of one of them accidentily shot the other... of course all trust was lost at that point because of an unknown third party LOL

I've had varying degrees of success psychologically trolling various parties in the game since.. Anybody else experiment with this sort of disruptive behaviour?

How do you know they were friends though? :p

I have not given that a shot, but that's because I hate causing wars of words...

Well, they weren't part of the same crew so I figured it was just a fleeting platonic relationship :) just got lucky that they were having fun together in that session lol

Its a lot easier just to kill a couple of people who are close to each other, then step back and watch it fly.

I have. there was this person who was friends with some other dude.. They were talking and i heard them arguing about something stupid. something about the dude losing his vehicle to his friend and couldn't recover. So i sent a message to the dude saying "the person is a hacker and he did the same thing to me".

Then the dude started to spawn kill him like badly. it was actually funny.

Getting people to shoot other people in GTAO is like getting fish to swim.

I prefer the ol' lock them in the shop by parking your PV at the door, or the classic, use a cargobob, put their PV on top of a building, forcing them to go get a chopper to come get it. (Interesting side note... over 50% of the people I do this to just drive the car right off the building, usually blowing up.)

I do quite enjoy joining a session and messaging the lowest ranking player with :

"YOU'VE JUST MADE A F*CKING WAR FOR YOURSELF!"

and then leave

Bounty trains are pretty entertaining. I come into a lobby and watch notifications to see such and such has killed such and such, and put a bounty on the killer. Then I put another bounty on the person who killed the person I just put the bounty on. Then it goes to the next person. Eventually there's no one left to put bounties on or a previous person I put a bounty on wrecks my train by killing the next bounty so I can't put another bounty on them again. These people never seem to realize what I'm doing and just keep killing the next person and becoming targets themselves. It's pretty funny.

Can't they just use the Request Personal Vehicle feature to get it back?

This would never work on me -.- I ALREADY don't trust no one and shoot anybody who comes to close to me lol. Shoot first, ask later (if at all).

I trust my crew and friends, not randoms in a lobby.

However... There was one time a few months ago I joined an invite only session with my friends. But there was this rank 5 guy in there and NOBODY knew how he got there! He wasn't anyone's friend.

So I sent a text that said "you ready to die boy?"

2 seconds later, he quit the session! Lol I was only joking. I wasn't gonna harm him. He was all the way in blain county.

I prefer voice trolling, it's too much fun to join a session and hear a conversation going that is just dying to be interrupted by the likes of me. People fall for troll bait so easily.

Always loved driving close enough to get the more aggressive types interested in me, taking them on a long chase then pulling into my garage.

Or, as many of us have enjoyed doing, getting in a Heli and just... following.

I always do it with $1000 bounties it pisses them off everytime.

Everyone shoots at each other in this game.

I doubt your jedi mind tricks have anything to do with it.

Placing a sticky bomb on the door to Simeon's garage whenever I see that another player has collected the vehicle, then I play the waiting game. No one ever seems to go for those vehicles anymore, so it has been a while since I've been a troll like that.

Recently though, I was flying over Blaine County in a Cargobob when I came across another guy in his PV. I started to swoop in to pick him up and he was even polite enough to stop driving and let me. Dropped him off in the middle of the prison and went on my way to LS. Not sure what happened to him, but I assume the prison guards weren't to happy he was there past visiting hours.

My way of passively trolling other players is to go into passive mode and run into the middle of a firefight. The lengths that people will go to try and kill a passive player is hilarious at times.

This happened to me but in an xbox live party. Some little puerto rican kid just randomly joined my party pretending to be black and kept yelling f*ck you n*gga and all kinds of madness to me and my friends and all we just did is laugh at the little f*cker and its was wven better that he was a heat fan and i rubbed that s*it in his face being that the heat are one game from elimination lol

Or they're smart and open their select menu and request personal vehicle. They only need to be a few blocks away for it to come to them in erect condition.

Voice trolling can actually be pretty entertaining. I was in a pretty full lobby not too long ago and someone was using a Judge Judy soundboard and picking fights with people.

I enjoy being chased when I have a bounty on me. It's a great way to practice evasion skills, counter attacks, running like a bitch and just generally "getting away with it", and the doller$ at the end are worth more than the mere money - they're like a scout's badge.

Because of this, I have conned many players into putting a $9K bounty on me, offering them riches in return. It used to be $50 million, but since the cash sweep I only have to offer $5 million. I've obviously never given this money, mainly because I never had the intention of doing so, but also because we can't.

I know this isn't exactly the same kind of trolling as the OP, but I do enjoy the similarity in the fact that we're using an open-world game where you can do so many things, that we can even play psyche games with people. What happens in this game extends beyond the TV.
