So has a video game made you cry/almost cry?

I think g senjou no maou, persona 3 and persona 4 came the closest for me. The ending of G senjou no maou is very sad as well as persona 3 and persona 4 i felt sad to leave the characters.

Metal Gear Solid 4 microwave scene and after credit ending

A few. I'll explain why for each of them.

1) The trailer for Dead Island

- To see the trailer in reverse was one thing, but I believe the score behind the trailer made the scene a bit more emotional and touching for my taste. I tend to get emotional when seeing and experiencing moments of impending doom. To see the little girl scrambling as fast as she could to get away from the zombies was a really touching thing for me.

2) The trailer for Gears of War 3 with the protagonists surrounded

- Pretty much the same as the reasoning above. But the fact that the first two games established that hope was already lost was pretty fitting for that trailer. Here you have the Locust, who lost their home underground (GoW2) and here you have the Lambent who are infectious and are spreading to both humans and Locusts (GoW1 & GoW2).

3) The atmosphere in Gears 3 when Dom suicided

- Wow. I was never really attached to characters in Gears of War, but the overall cinematography was masterfully well done in that cut scene. The established shot of impending doom around everyone, but Dom drives away only to save everyone as he destroys himself in the process. I mean, wow.. And Marcus' reaction to his best buddy die as he watched was just amazing. I tear up almost every time.

4) The last few missions with the Russians in Call of Duty: WaW

- WaW, as bloody and gory as it was did get across a valid point about how gruesome it was. That lasting stat when America dropped the A-bomb on Japan really stuck with me. But that's not the part that makes me tear up. The missions where Reznov narrates Chernov's death and he shows no remorse for Nazis pleading for mercy is powerful enough for me. Those last few missions Downfall, Eviction, and I think Heart of The Reich were just too gripping for me. I cannot imagine how terrible that war was. To actually see men turn into heartless animals and kill each other and ignore morality for the sake of revenge was just sad enough. They say "War is hell", but... if that's what WWII was like, I cannot imagine what will happen in the foreseeable future. Wow..

There are other games and moments in entertainment that had me in tears, but I'll save those for another time. Nice thread OP.

The Pizza Delivery Guy

The end of Mass Effect 3, for all the wrong reasons.

Actual post: Stuntman (PS2): Almost reaching the end of the final mission, and missing an explosion or something so i didn't have enough % to pass.

And of course the end to the Walking Dead season 1.

Sugar Free Nos

The end of Fallout 3,

where you go into project purity to sacrifice yourself, then after the end cutscene it goes to the scene with the light baby music playing and pans over the framed picture from your 10th birthday that Jonah took with you and your Dad when he gave you your first BB gun. I cri evry tim, literally. RIP my Dad Liam Neeson.

You just never got moments like that in New Vegas, that's why I will always love Fallout 3 more.

It's f*cked up how if you let Lyon go instead the narrator makes you feel bad.

Battletoads, I cry everytime I get to the hoverbike level.

Similar, but Rat Race (stage 10) usually was the one that had me breaking down in tears.

Nope, because Bethesda. Also it's "nice" how Broken sh*t ruins the true ending of the game: "there are deadly radiation levels, it will kill you...nope, guess not."

The Walking Dead, the last 2 episodes...

Journey's ending was pretty beautiful as well, without the use of violence.. and I'm not afraid to admit that.

To The Moon. A masterpiece of a story, and the only game that broke me down emotionally for more than a moment. No crying though.

The Walking Dead made me misty eyed.

The Last of Us made me shed some manly tears the day after I finished it.

Nah. Plenty of games have made me sad but never has any of them physically made me cry - unless tears from laughter counts?

The first MGS was probably the first game to have an emotional impact on me though. The last was probably Bioshock Infinite - that game plagued my thoughts for days after finishing it.

On Ace Combat 5 Journey Home - it made me cry like a little bitch on this mission. It took me weeks to move on from it that it was just a game, but I still have those sad feelings. :(

RDR- I got rage after the final mission. I had to kill lots of innocent horses, civilians and lawmen to put me back on the game again.

Red Dead Redemption: I lost it at the credits.

The Last of Us: Multiple times, most notably soon after the beginning and at the hospital near the end.

Jaheira and Khalid in BG II. Sarah in Sanitarium.

I cry pretty easily though, so there's a lot more games (and movies) that made me cry wimpy tears.

Here's an old topic about it, contains spoilers.

The Walking Dead. Lee gave me such watery eyes.

Ditto. Lee sacrificed himself to keep Clementine safe. On the Season 2 of the game, I felt sorry for the dog Sam.
