Am I the only one who doesn't bother with armor upgrades?

They really don't help at all and they are expensive

They don't help me with sticky bombs or grenade or even miniguns.

And anyways, they could blue up my Zentorno with 10 shots of a Sawed shotgun

It's not for stopping bullets, really, it's more for making your vehicle stronger so it can withstand more impacts without getting deformed and making it difficult to drive.

With a Roosevelt, even without the armor upgrades you can get into a head-on collision and the headlights and everything stay intact because it's armored to begin with.

Yes you are, because not only does armor protect your vehicle from crashes and NPC's it also helps against other players. It does not take long for an AP pistol to obliterate an unarmored vehicle.

I don't, because I don't need the protection from environmental damage...maybe IF heist cars are a thing, my heist car will have it.

An unarmoured Surfer can 'drive' from the top of chiliad to Paleto down old mans crack, or to grapeseed off bells end with only panel damage - or off the maze bank tower for that matter.

Armor is worth it just for the extra sturdiness against other racers. Especially in motorcycle races, since most players don't armor them. It's funny to watch them bounce off me as they try to sideswipe my bike.

Hahahaha! Armor (especially 100% Armor) SIGNIFICANTLY reduces damage taken... If you have no armor and even touch anything, your wheels bend in, causing major steering issues. Lolol! Armor prevents this, pretty much keeps it from happening.

Can't tell if you are trolling, but if not, now you know.

Do you not use bulletproof tires too? I'll laugh at you while I chase you down after flattening all fours.

OT: Yes, because the benefits of armor go far beyond the 50k you pay for it.

I thought armour had been thoroughly tested and proven to effect impact damage only?

Bulletproof tires, that's another story entirely.

I had completely quit them for a while but now sometimes use them against npcs for missions where theres a lot of them as they do offer an extra few seconds of protection, moneys not tight but they still arent really worth it, lol!

EDIT: Oops, misread the topic, thought you meant bulletproof vests. I always use 100% on my cars, they are definitely worth it. they make your car heavier and not get pushed around by sh*tty npc drivers so easily. Also makes them take way more damage before exploding. without armor you can fly off a hill and land on your side and instantly explode but with 100% you can roll around bouncing off sh*t all day and not explode. i even got ran over by a tank in my entity once and it didnt explode, it was flattened such that i could only get out the passenger side and 3 wheels fell off so it was pretty immobile, but it did still run. you even touch a tank with no armor and u explode instantly, lol!

Biohazard Abyss

Armor is definitely essential, unless you have a thing for deformed cars.

10 cars / 10 bikes.

never got around to putting armor on anything since I rarely drive cars.

I will admit I also never put bulletproof tires on anything... it's bitten me in the ass more than once.

bulletproof tires are near essential, especially if you plan to outrun the police, they nearly always get a tire or two, lol

always go for the max

you might not think it does much (why I wouldn't know since it obviously makes your cars really really resilient)

but I'll know when I only need a single clip of my AP pistol to blow you up

I use to worry about it. Now i'm too the point of if I have the extra money I will put it on, but if I don't then I could care less.

first thing on a new car are bulletproof tires, also 100% armor makes a huge difference to bikes when jumping (landing)

The armor for your vehicles makes your vehicle less destructible. For example, if you fly off a mountain with an NPC car, you're much more likely to explode on impact. The vehicle with more armor is heavier and takes less damage during a crash.

So yes, I absolutely do bother with it.

No armor in my cars, its useless.

The wheel damage only appears in singleplayer afaik, never ever had it in MP even with a comet being smashed by a dozer.

He drives a comet? And without armor? Geez, I wish everybody did that.

I could blow up peoples PVs with my micro smg and save my RPGs for important stuff lol.

I have not tested to see the exact specifics of using car armor, but I do know this.

Anyone ever notice how easily the documents car blows up in Rooftop Rumble after only seemingly a few shots? Well that car has 0% armor.

If you neglect to buy armor, that will more than likely be you.

Is that what you want? To be as fragile as the documents in RR? No? Didn't think so lol.

Stop reading this. Go buy the armor. Do it now.
