video trimming

better interface

double screen camera (it will be great)

Continuous recording.

I'm guessing they didn't allow it in IV because of the potential to fill your hard drive quick. As long as the setting comes with warnings though....

Greatly Multisampled and HQ rendering, maybe the possibility to animate the characters, that would be neat!

Ability to orchestrate your own scenes from scratch. Spawning NPCs where you want to, assigning animations to them and trigger dialogs. Change time of day and weather.

Oh man...can you imagine the possibilities of Machinima wth GTA V? Holy sh*t...

Who knows what they'll come up with? I'm playing with the GTA IV editor and despite being basic, it's a real pain-in-the-ass to figure out sometimes. Camera limitations, records the wrong length, etc. Also multiple problems with interiors. I know that Rockstar has learned their lesson on PC versions now thanks to Max Payne 3 being a great release (from what I've heard, I never played it), so by now I would expect that the video editor might actually be something completely different. They said advanced movie making in the press release, so perhaps we will see a whole new concept.

I want:

No bullsh*t camera limitations (unless it's like way across rendering field from the player, that makes sense)

Easier editing tools for camera placement

Custom animation on NPCs

Open field movie editing so you can place characters where ever you want, have access to weather controls, time, vehicles, weapons, anything of your choice.

No watermarks from anything, it is entirely your own choice to place one later (I probably won't)

Flexible controls with FOV, Speed, Audio

Easier ways to render the film

Anything to make it a lot less complicated than the GTA IV editor

That's what Adobe AE is for. :D

Yeah but I need to start some class or lessons on how to use anything from Adobe. Amazing, brilliant software, but I can't even figure out how to actually edit a video once I have it inserted, which already takes me about five minutes. Yeah. I'm that bad. I've stayed on Sony Vegas for simple little sh*t videos. It can make professional movie quality videos, I just don't have any footage usable for that.

Yeah, that's what I was hoping for, but I didn't wanna say it outloud in getting my hopes up too fast.

The advanced editor has gotta have the creator features. It just makes too much sense. Being able to spawn any

car, pedestrian you want and placing it wherever.

I respected those ideas so much, that I made this dedicated to it:

Lol sounds like Bill and Ted wrote this. "Be excellent to each other." This cracked me up.

Mouse friendly UI. Nothing is more nerving than having to deal with a console UI when there a mouse right next to me.

I hope it renders to something else other than WMV which GTA IV's editor did. That was horrible. AVI or MP4 would be fine, but i guess MP4 is proprietary. Idk about AVI.

uncompressed AVI export, No watermark without mods, include own music, custom NPC animations

and as said many times: No camera restrictions. The camera is by far the most important and worst part of the video editor. The editor in IV is allright, but this little thing really annoys the f*ck outta me
