i will go for 36GB

The PS4 version is 50gb. The PC version will be at least that big, if not bigger.

The 50gb size on the psn store has been explained and is more than likely just a place holder. There is absolutely nothing R* could do that will add 33gb of additional data. They are not completely redoing textures or graphics TMU, they are simply upgrading the shaders and up scaling some textures. The only way this game reaches 50gb is if R* gets completely lazy with the compression and fills the leftover space with bloat.

Ahh. Well, I still say the PC version will at least hit the 40GB mark.

Nope. The textures are not just upscaled. The textures were (most likely) made for the PC version. So they will all have a much higher resolution, and the last gen version had downgraded textures.

Simply upscaling would leave artifacts, what are you talking about? The textures have a master size, let's say 2048x2048 and then they're downscaled depending on the platform. Last-gen consoles are 512x512 (hypothetically) while PC could have the maximum available. It's clear from the trailers the textures aren't the same as the console versions. Also, audio and video in RAGE GTA's is very big even in lower quality. With PC versions they've always increased their quality a lot, which can make the games rise in size by dozens of GB.

Come on, we should all know this buy know, don't you think?

I wouldn't know. I never played GTA IV on the PC. How much better did it look than the consoles? I just don't see R* adding 30+gb of data( if the PSN size is true ).

PC would render at about 30GB to 45GB. Because of the PC being able to optimize the graphics manually. That is unless they do not allow the graphics optimization on PC.

You know, the Game Engine lets you scale the the textures, so for OG mod you won't need to put all LQ textures, just the HQ ones, wich will be downscaled and for the shadows, well, they're just settings. :p

Now that the information has been revealed about there being a First Person view in the game, this opens up ideas to 50-55 GB. They must create over 1,000+ animations for this mode. The dashes, RPM meters, everything in cars will also be realtime as well. It is possible to still be 40-45 GB if they cram it in, but Rockstar is a little too lazy for that.

Not true, if you saw the information on First person leaked/revealed yesterday, you would have a different opinion.

I have seen the info and I don't think that is going to add an additional 33gb of data to the game. All the interior models for the vehicles already exist so they will likely just bake out slightly higher maps for the models too look better in FP. The textures will likely be the lowest on the totem poll and animations do not take up any significant amount of space TMU. FPS mode is cool and all but please don't think its going to be of the quality of actual FPS games. Either way we will know the size for sure in a couple weeks when the consoles get it.

I bet there's going to be even more locked DLC content. Hence why it's so big.

There's no confirmed size of the PC version yet. Absolutely every single reply in this thread is pure speculation and is likely to be wrong.

My money is on roughly 30GB, I see no reason why it would be around 50.

Well, since the PS4 version weighs in at about 41-42 GB on PSN pre-order page, IMO 43-47 GB is the most plausible. PC version can't be smaller than PS4, unless they decided to bloat the game install with deprecated/unused files.

Probably the same amount or even less, since there won't be any FPV.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is FPV? First person mode?

First Person View.

Uhm, okay, and why exactly would first-person mode not exist in PC version?

'Cause at the end of the trailer it says 'coming to ps4 and xbox one'.

I'm sensing sarcasm OR ignorance. They wouldn't want to break the hype train.

I guess it's ignorance.

Exclusive to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions of Grand Theft Auto V, this new mode gives players the chance to explore the world of Los Santos and Blaine County directly through the eyes of their character, revealing all the world's glorious details in an entirely new way.

@Doc1985 Description!! Ever heard of it?
