Deji
Y'all guys didn't notice that he's Anti-R* and Anti-GTA V anyway, so therefore this whole topic is just major trollage? He posted 4 weeks ago, yet he's still just as interested in replies, yet his own responses are just feeding more and more into the view he had from the start. Anyway, V LG and V NG are as unequal as IV LG and IV PC, SA 6G and SA PC, VC 6G and VC PC, III 6G and III PC, and about all the other GTA games you can think of that are on different platforms. Different platforms, different product, different game. Get over it. There's no shenanigans, just business as usual.

Hayze
If you can't afford the new gen version and need to bitch and moan about it not being free; then you're either too young to actually play, need a better job, or need to do something about whatever addiction you have that uses up all of your money. It costs money to develop software/product (even if you consider it just a new-gen port), promote again, continuously update (DLC updates we've gotten for free that will transfer over), etc. If you feel the game is still glitched/broken, then at least you can always go play the flawless games you created and have on your resume. Just accept the fact that it will cost the same as a new game and move on... or stay with the current old gen version which is a perfectly acceptable option. lol232 and InTheShadowsSince04

Capital
It's the continuation of a previous release, you're not owed any discount. Is it? To what extend? Do you expect a lot of new features/content? If so then yeah a discount wouldn't be called for. But if it's a graphical update then you ought to get one. Would be the smart thing to do for them really. A win win. poklane, Lk41 and Osho
Shimo815
They should give a discount for players who already bought the old-gen version. The competition is fierce, too many great games coming this fall/winter. If they give us an impulse/help to buy GTAV (again), it could help the sales a lot. Ash_735
Physical Copies on a different platform might be hard to give a discount to, best you could get is trading in the current version for in-store CREDIT and then buying the new version from that. Digital Copies on the same brand though, yeah, they should offer something, if you bought GTAV Digitally on Xbox 360, then you should get a bonus upgrade to Xbox One for a discounted price, same goes for PS3 to PS4. Xerukal
A discount does seem in order for the PS4/XB1 folk, yeah. I mean, Metro is doing the same thing on Steam, from what i've seen. And the remastered edition of Metro 2033 actually features GAMEPLAY changes, too! Like, elements of Last Light in there. So It's not just a visual upgrade. It's only fair. With digital copies at the very least.
FranklinDeRoosevelt
There should be a slight price difference even with the physical copies, say about $10-15 cheaper than before. Digitally, they should be dropping the price from $59.99 all the way down to $34.99-39.99 for only Microsoft and Sony. However for Steam, it should be about $42.99 as a lot of people haven't touched the game yet plus Steam take 30% from Rockstar as it is. Because they're offering a game for full price? You know, people who were waiting for PC/NG versions do exist. It's not all about people who have played it before. That being said, I'm sure that if you have proof of purchase of a 360/PS3 version, you'll get a slight discount. lol232

SimsDaniel916
If you were to ask this question a year ago, I would definitely say that Rockstar would offer a discount. Now, with all of the greedy actions they have taken, we don't really have a chance at a discount. I was hoping Rockstar would follow in Sony's path and offer it for $50 as they did with The Last of Us but apparently not. matajuegos01, VIPΣR and poklane

Fuzzknuckles
Totally lost a long ass reply to this, but here we go again: 1. I used to buy vinyl and tapes, now I buy CDs. I replaced many albums with CD copies, and I paid full price. I had no thought of discounts, as it's for a different platform. 2. I used to buy VHS, now I buy DVD and Blu Ray. I have replaced some films on both DVD and BR, and I didn't expect a discount. This is indicative of the huge problem we have with gamers today - entitled little sh*ts who endlessly complain about trivial things and who genuinely believe everyone owes them something. If you're one of those that feels you should get a discount, I say a hale and hearty f*ck YOU. You can't expect to buy what is essentially a different product for a reduced price because you already own a similar product. By all means, trade in your existing copies if you have one and use the money you get as a sort-of discount, but don't expect anything more than that. And if anyone has a clear and concise method as to how a discount system would work, I'm ready to hear it. Just don't bother pissing and moaning about how they're trying to dick you by making you pay for something you want. f*cks sake. --- P.S. - From OP's signature: "I hate GTA V and I'm not proud of it. It's very sad that we waited for GTA V for 5 years and we get very unfunny joke instead of game of the generation." Why the actual f*ck are you even thinking about getting it for PS4. Fuzzknuckles
Personally, I'm getting it for PS4, even though I have hundreds of hours clocked in on the PS3. And I'm more than happy to pay full price for it. I can understand that some people can't afford to do that, and that's fair enough, but to expect a discount is just bullsh*t. I guess, being an adult with a well paid job, I may have it a little easier than others and see no problem with paying full price for something. But I've always felt that way, even when I was a kid - as mentioned in my previous post. If I buy a new product on a new platform, there is absolutely no reason to offer a discount. lol232 and adictoGTA 2 Signatures are dumb anyway. I guess, being an adult with a well paid job, I may have it a little easier than others and see no problem with paying full price for something. But I've always felt that way, even when I was a kid - as mentioned in my previous post. If I buy a new product on a new platform, there is absolutely no reason to offer a discount. Considering the amount of games that offered discounts(Like CoD and Battlfield) for a limited time to users upgrading from one version to the next, it's not far fetched at all. I have a problem paying full price for what is at it's core, the same game as we're playing now, just more refined and hopefully with all previous DLC already on disc. I'm not asking for a massive discount, $15-20 bucks off for a LIMITED TIME ONLY. That way, those of us who jump in early don't feel ripped off, R* gets some desperately needed positive press, and they still make their money off copies sold for full price after the sale is over. Seriously, let's not just sit here and act like a multi-billion dollar company is hurting for money. Furthermore, they're still making money, even more so based on the fact they're selling the same game twice. Releasing a PC version is one thing but the next-gen console version is different. Fact is, as someone who has always planned on buying a PS4, part of the reason I held off was the fact it was still early and I wanted to get GTA V. I knew it wasn't on next gen consoles and honestly didn't anticipate it would be since I figured GTA V would sort of be like the "finale" of the 7th gen consoles, one last blockbuster to close the show. This all coming BEFORE I even got the game, fast forward to now and it seems like a slap in the face based on the fact the game FEELS like a beta more and more, especially after the announcement of the next-gen versions and seeing how refined they look in comparison. My whole point here is simple: Had I known there was going to be a PS4 version down the road, I most likely would never have bought the PS3 version and managed to save money in the long run by not feeling compelled to buy the same game twice. Sure, I'd have missed out on all the stuff we've had up until this point and I wouldn't have any characters to transfer over but at least I'd be playing the complete game from day one. I'm speaking only for myself here though I can imagine there are others who feel the same way. It was a calculated and, in my opinion, a dirty move by R* keeping those versions under wraps for so long. It's different from the PC release, which is always delayed somehow and always expected, not to mention the PC version is a different animal completely, hence why PC gamers who also own consoles don't mind buying the same game on each since the PC version is usually very, very different from the console version as it has far more options and whatnot. There was never any real indication they were making a next-gen version, just loads and loads of speculation but once the official announcement was made, everything made sense. The reason why this game has been so damn buggy and why the servers have been sh*t along with the frame-rate. Why? Because we're playing a watered down version of the game that still manages to push the 7th gen consoles to their limits which has essentially been revealed to be a beta. So in closing here, my central point remains the same: An early bird discount of $15-20 isn't asking that much of a multi-billion dollar company and if you think it is, you clearly need to do some research. There's a difference between making your money while making your customers happy and milking them for every cent they have, R*'s approach thus far has been the latter and quite frankly I for one am disgusted by it. GTA DUDE05
I personally hope they will done something like The Last Of Us at Gamestop like trading your PS3/Xbox 360 copy of GTA V and get a 50% off to upgrade from current gen to next gen for a limited-time deal, what do you think? Mr.Raspberry Jam
Do you think they'll release it in a bundle with a next gen console? I also agree that they should do some sort of deal where you trade in your copy for a next gen copy but only pay half the price. I still wouldn't mind paying though. Dope_0110
Maybe there will be some kind of a deal for those who already have the game, so that it's possible to go and exchange the old gen version for the next gen version and pay a fraction of the full price. But on it's own, it's a full game and it's a full price that it should be, just like any game that gets released on different platforms, the only difference being Rockstar's game got on some platforms sooner than others. Arlarse
Maybe not 50% but I'd be totally fine with there being 25% off with a trade in of current for the new gen game.
mariana_dm1989
Well, it depends. If ithe upcoming version was just a graphically improved version, i would think it is stupid to charge full price. But if it is the case that last gen gtav was actually like a beta version compared to the one being released on current gen, then i would think it is fair for rockstar to charge full price.
