Don't know if someone mentioned this yet but I'm not liking this "perk"http://www.gamespot.com/articles/e3-2014-gta5-has-a-special-bonus-for-ps4-owners/1100-6420394/

We don't even know what it is yet.

Him saying "GTA began with us" is a bit overconfident, though.

Grand Theft Auto began on a Microsoft platform, then on a Playstation platform very soon after. Disregarding its beginnings because you pumped more money into it after the 3D era kicked off is just dickish to me.

Yes, they boosted the success with all the III/SA/VC glory. But It's not an exclusive, and I hope that it stays that way. Because this guy's wording seems to be hinting at some type of frightening exclusivity deal just around the corner. With the PC and Xbox being on the receiving end of that horribly painful punchline.

Grand Theft Auto was more successful because of Sony. It did not begin with them. Not at all.

But you can't play games at 4K on consoles. :p

I don't have a 4KTV, so that means nothing to me. Besides, by the time I were to own one, the PS4 can do 4K games.

No, no it won't.

Yes, yes it can.

The PS4 has the 4K technology built into it, it just needs a future firmware update to activate it and install the software just like the PS3 did with 3D.

Mark my words right here at this date and time.

In the history of the PS4's lifespan, there will not be a single game that runs at native 4K resolution. Not one.

And even if I'm wrong, the only way you're getting it is with either PS2-quality visuals or a nice, 10 FPS slideshow.

- 4K resolution

- graphics

- framerate

Pick two. The PS4's hardware isn't capable of having all three exist on the same game. Sorry, but it just isn't. Keep believing it is and you'll end this console generation very disappointed.

PC all the way:

- a lot faster loadings with SSD

- better frame rate

- bigger resolution

- more AA

- more AF

- better textures quality due to functions in drivers

- hopefully more players in multiplayer

- mods, mods a tons of mods

Games with heavy data streaming (open world games) work very well on SSD's.

I hope Rockstar takes advantage of the extra RAM so we get better draw/rendering distance. Always the biggest problem.

The biggest advantage I see is modding back what's missing back into singleplayer, and oh, that tiny, tiny detail being "YOU NEEDN'T PAY TO PLAY MULTIPLAYER M8".

Screw Live Gold, screw PS Plus. I bought a game and I'm not paying a subscription fee to have access to all of it, amigos. And that's why I am going to buy two copies, so I can play with me brother.

THIS x 1E+06

AND all the previous legacy content in GTA IV and some SA stuff that SHOULD'VE been there before GTA V shipped last year. Technically GTA IV and V are HD, so translating GTA IV mods into the GTA V universe shouldn't be too challenging.

That's nothing to worry about... just Sony trying to convince some naive people to buy it for PS4 instead for PC.

And the special advantage to having the PC Version... ya exactly alot.. Like modding, they can throw whatever tf they want in a game, but at the end of the day.. Modding wins for me.. Always has and always will.. That is the only reason I play GTA.. I could give a sh*t less about the game story and whatever, but Modding is where its at.. Hell it got me into 3d back in GTA 3 days..

End line..

GTA PC, where all the cool people go.

The best thing about PC gaming compared to console is a big one; customization ability.

Reading all the above posts regarding 4K, modding, etc... do any of you feel that is is more comfortable playing with a keyboard and mouse? I have always preferred PC gaming because of that comfort factor. What do you think?

Cheers. :colgate:

Anything that involves aiming is better with a KB+M.
Driving is better with a gamepad.

A resourceful individual can do both at the same time...

Are you like a T-1000 that can grow more then two arms?

Anyway, I do find flying in IV more natural with an Xbox 360 wired controller, do you?

Cheers.

I use both at the same time (In IV), I leave my xbox 360 controller plugged in and go back and forth between that and kb+m.

I use the controller mostly for flying helicopters.

Keep the controller on your lap, while your character is getting into the car, reach down and pick it up.

I don't do it personally, I've learned how to drive well enough with the keyboard over the years.

In my opinion, GTA V on the pc will be the best version no matter what Perks are exclusive to the consoles. This is assuming that the PC version is well optimized of course.

and I would like to note that I'm going to make a better properties mod where you can tell these guys to get off thier asses and do their own sh*t. you are the boss, not some $7 an hour go 2 guy.

Yeah, that's true. There's nothing equivalent in Consoles that can compare to modding in PC. PC Master Race all the way!

Imagine the possibilities with GTA 5. The game would get countless visual upgrade mods for starters, and if the ones from GTA IV are any indication (as seen above), they would be absolutely gorgeous. Current issues with the game like the fact that almost every building is unable to be entered could be solved by mods. New cars, weapons, clothes, missions, anything really could all be added. They could truly make use of one of the best video game sandboxes to exist in some time, because Rockstar simply didn’t have time to make it any bigger or deeper.

None of this would affect DLC which Rockstar is obviously planning to make. Despite the fact that it would sell well, PC is still a relatively small market compared to the consoles. And Skyrim released a ton of DLC amid all the mods, and that worked out just fine.

Obvious I’m not privy to the amount of work it would take to port GTA 5 to the PC, but it would seem like a hugely wasted opportunity if it went the way of Red Dead Redemption instead of its predecessor, GTA IV. Aside from PC players who want to play the core game, there’s just so much potential for further expansion of Los Santos through mods, Rockstar owes it to their own game to see what fans can come up with.graphics.jpg

I actually don't think that picture looks to good.

Cuz it looks like sh*t and the effects are overdone.

Its not atleast looking so bad

Atleast I tried!!!!

You might want to be careful there, as there's a game running at 4k on the PS3. ;)

The PS4 will easily be able to do some 2D Indie platformers at 4K. Stuff like Terraria which basically runs on anything.

It's the equivalent of 4x 1080p. Not that bad for some games.

I don't do it personally, I've learned how to drive well enough with the keyboard over the years.

Experience has taught me that if I can handle Sleeping Dogs' and Saints Row's driving with a keyboard, I can handle anything with a keyboard.

Not to say SD's driving is bad. It was just very... unusual for me. Arcade-like, which I did indeed appreciate. Especially that one gravity-defying move that lets you ram people. Love that one.

I like what I've seen (and played) from GTA V's driving so far. It's certainly hard to go back to IV driving after experiencing it, even with a keyboard. While I do think the driving gets way too much criticism, it doesn't really matter. We'll be able to tweak it to what suits us best anyway.

The bikes are a bit weird and more difficult to get used to, though. TLAD bike handling is still the best, in my opinion.

Naturally should've clarified more specifically. My mistake.

In the history of the PS4's lifespan, there won't be one major title (BF, CoD, MGS, Gran Turismo, GTA, etc.) that runs at native 4K resolution. Not one.

Indie, possibly, as most of that type aren't intended to push hardware to it's limits. Other than that, absolutely not happening.

Pc version will have so many advantages over next gen console versions.pc version will look more beautiful than next gen console versions also higher framerate resolution and lot of graphics features that will not be present in any of the console versions.mods will make the game the best looking game for next 10 years and lot of other mods will improve the gameplay.pc also have video editor and 32 players online.it may even be 64 or 128 because pc has so much memory than consoles.pc will have antialiasing while consoles dont .pc gamers can also use keyboard mouse or controllers.pc version will also have custom radio stations.so everyone should buy pc version to get the most fun out of gta v.

Resolution is just a small part of all the graphical effects and settings. He means a 4K resolution with graphics like The Order 1866, for example.
