He needs to download more RAM.

No, he needs to download a GTX780 Ti.

But because he has a laptop, he needs to download an entire PC.

Man that screenshot of IV using ENB looks ugly as f*ck. Proves that some people just really know how to ruin the game :D

Yeah, but Skyrim with ENB looks more than gorgeous.

Also I don't like the newer versions of ENB for IV. Too washed out. My favorite is iCEnhancer 1.2

And one more thing, "Proves that some people just really know how to ruin the game" seems a bit unnecessary.

Other people using ENB has no effect on you or anyone else...so how are they ruining the game?

I won't deny it, PC always has more advantages. But, you pay more for them. You have to sometimes upgrade for new games, you have to build it etc. Next gen consoles are for ones who just want to play the game.

Grand Theft Auto V will take full advantage of the power of the PC with across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail. Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions all work together to bring new life to the cities, towns, deserts and oceans of Rockstar Norths epic reimagining of Southern California. The company also says that GTA 5 PC, PS4, and Xbox One will be the richest and deepest open world experience to date and will come with a wide range of enhancements. These include new wildlife, upgraded weather effects, upgraded damage effects, as well as an array of new details.
gta-5-gameplay-trailer-640x330.jpg

There were changes made between the console versions and PC version when the console versions were ported to the PC. Sometimes the changes can be dramatic. The major difference is the ability to use the mouse and keyboard instead of a controller to play the games. The PC has a great advantage of being able to be easily modified that is supported by an active online community.

But you can't play games at 4K on consoles. :p

I don't have a 4KTV, so that means nothing to me. Besides, by the time I were to own one, the PS4 can do 4K games.

Selling games, what for? You already get them a bit cheaper than consoles, so is just less time consuming trying to sell it after you've played it, but if you have it on your digital library it'll always be there if you feel you want to play it again, just re-download it. Loss of money forever? Since when buying things for your entertainment is loss of money forever?! You just used the money for a game experience, and that's not loss, unless you buy the game on hype or faulty and you end up disappointed.

That's why PC gamers can "try ("demo")" games before purchasing them, that will enable them to test their PCs and how well the game is optimized, not forgetting about reviews and video gameplay you can watch. So, when you finally get to buy it, you have at least eliminated some of the annoying chances of being disappointed with the game.

Sony and Xbox exclusives? More than any time before they'll end up being multi platform from now on, and even if they don't we have our own blackjack and hookers.

Don't forget you have that since you have a gaming PC, you can also watch movies, series, youtube and all of the internet can give you. You can work on PCs and still being able to fully game on it.

I don't do digital, I only do physical. If I am paying for it, I better have something to hold in my hand. Something I can put on my shelf with my other games. Something I can read and look at.

Sell games I hate or don't replay. I sold RE6 a week after it came out because the game sucked so bad. I sold off my Assassin's Creed games a few months back because I realized I was never going to replay them again.

I don't see Uncharted, The Order, God of War, Twisted Metal, Ratchet & Clank, Metal Gear Solid, Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, Resistance, Infamous, and Jak & Dexter coming to the PC.

I can watch movies on my PS3, PS4, Samsung BD player, and Philips DVD player.

Wow, downloading a through steam is such a hassle! And the risks of getting a virus with it is also very, very high!

Come on, i have no problem with console gamers. Heck i own a PS3 and will be getting a PS4 in the near future for sony exclusives (i also love those) but at least know what you're talking about before saying stuff like this.

If you aren't a PC gamer, then why under the big blue sky are you in the PC SECTION in a PC thread?

Paco, I think I said I don't do PC games, so obviously I wouldn't be 100% in the know.

Ryan, two simple reasons:

1. This is a dicussion board, I am free to discuss on any topic I want to.

2. I did not realize this was a PC forum. I just clicked on the current topic from the main page.

The Playstation 4 will not be able to pull off 4k at a stable framerate.

Multiplayer is a big part of GTA 5 too, but again, the limitations of the 360 were clear. Free roam mode only supports 16 players, which isn’t really taking advantage of that enormous map. You can drive around for a good long while without bumping into other players. Rockstar haven’t confirmed it yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the PC version supported more. 32 players would do it. As big as the map is, 64 might be pushing it, ‘cause I doubt you’d get anything worthwhile done without being shot or run over every ten seconds. There’s a huge selection of missions in GTA Online, including fighter jet dogfights, street races, triathlons, deathmatches, and way more than I could ever list here, but I’m mostly just looking forward to messing around with a group of friends in free mode.

You can enjoy it on your own, though. My favourite thing to do is wait for someone to kill me for no reason (this happens a lot), then stalk them relentlessly until they get frustrated and log off. I hounded a guy for at least an hour, constantly appearing around corners with a shotgun, chasing him in a car, or floating above him in a helicopter, killing him again and again. I was GTA Online’s very own Anton Chigurh. My hapless victim finally snapped and disconnected when I chased him to the end of a pier and landed my chopper on his naughty head. It’s this kind of emergent sandbox nonsense that makes GTA so fun, and doubly so when it’s real people you’re interacting with.

I’m looking forward to playing this again. For me, it’s the best and least irritating set of story missions in the series so far. Anyone who slogged through those seemingly endless Phil Bell missions at the end of IV will be glad to hear that checkpoints are generous, and you no longer have to escort idiotic AI characters through hails of bullets. It’s just /fun/, and the character-switching system—you can flip between the three protagonists near-instantly in certain missions—creates some enjoyable set-pieces, especially in the elaborate heist missions. It has some problems, including some mind-numbing ‘collect lots of objects littered around the map’ side-missions that are thankfully optional. But as far as the GTA series goes, this is Rockstar’s most polished, confident entry yet, and the PC version, as long as there are no glaring technical issues with the port, will be the best.gta-v-flying-610x343.jpg

What are you talking about?

5fps is plenty. Our eyes can't see more than 30fps anyway. /s

Cannot believe its not a port, but if its developed on pc from beginning, it would be magnificent.lol

Seeing as PS4 & Xbox1 are both running on x86 platforms, like a PC - I would assume that these version wont be port's.

Most new games for PC (i.e watch dogs) are only developed for x64

Is this a debate or a statement this thread?

Either way, not really needed after the multitude of PC v Console debates over the years

I find it somewhat funny. At the PC thread almost everyone at some point in time trashed Rockstar. Now all of a sudden everywhere you look people praise the company.

I actually defended them, as I do believe they have no obligation to release for PC. Fast forward to now, one nice trailer and everyone is praising them, as if they didn't make PC gamers wait over 12 months for V !

I have to hand it to them, you promise some stuff (like online stuff that is already in the existing game) and release a trailer with some nice graphics, and everyone is hyped again.

It is almost like it's a new game, whilst in fact it isn't. Some expectations (like better AI) will be unrealistic and will ultimately lead to disappointment. Can't wait for release day !

for most of us it is a new game

One of the biggest advantages the PC has over consoles right now is that there are a lot more games available for the PC than there are for consoles, particularly when it comes to multiplayer online games. Not only are the vast majority of MMOGs designed for the PC, but PC gamers also have the option to play MUDs, email games, browser games, and a wide variety of titles that are distributed digitally or available as free downloads.

As mentioned above, another clear advantage PCs have over consoles is that you can use them for a lot more than playing games. Furthermore, if you like to modify games or edit maps for them, a PC is essential, and you have to take a break from gaming sometime to read gaming sites.

PCs are always on the cutting edge of gaming technology. The current generation of consoles with high-definition capabilities did briefly narrow the gap, but well-equipped PCs continue to offer superior graphics. Computer monitors can be found with considerably higher resolutions than HDTVs, and the latest multi-core processors and dual GPU solutions make it possible to build a remarkably powerful game system. Even if a console offers incredible technology upon its release, there is no way for it to compete with the rapid hardware advancements that have become a way of life in the computer industry.

Tonya-strangerfreak-gtav-02.jpg

When it comes online gaming, PCs give people a variety of ways to connect to the Internet, and to each other, which aren't restricted to proprietary services or software. Different brands of computer and event different operating systems generally communicate very well with one another. This is quite different from services like Xbox Live, for example, which is the only option available to Xbox users that want to play online, and is closed to everyone that doesn't have an Xbox.

Finally, as your PC ages, there is a reasonable chance of extending its gaming life with a component upgrade, although it can get a bit messy.

A certain amount of management of expectations should be exercised with these, given that enviornments as depicted in trailers often difer quite a lot when it comes to actual gameplay, but the prospect of seeing Los Santos in even greater detail than it is already is an exciting one.

Rockstar also promised that there will be "new details to discover" (in the actual game) along with new wildlife and weather and damage effects, with the game's makeover extending into GTA Online.

Yes, yes it can.

The PS4 has the 4K technology built into it, it just needs a future firmware update to activate it and install the software just like the PS3 did with 3D. Besides, by the time 4K becomes relevant enough for non-rich ****s to buy the TVs we will be in the next generation of gaming.

The PS4's GPU is nowhere near powerful enough to run 4k games at a decent framrate.

The only thing the PS4 might be able to do is to upscale (meaning, the internal rendering resolution would be the same) from 1080p to 4k (just like the ps3 was able to upscale from 720p to 1080p) but the massive jump in resolution would make the screen so blurry and disgusting it wouldn't be worth it.

The only platform to really be able to RENDER (not display) in 4k is PC.

I know that their will be some new things in gta 5 ps4 and xbox one but at last story would remain the same.

Coming to reality I never saw some change in trailer above than my xbox 360 version; only the traffic was more and grass seems greener and small details like flowers very visible.

I think R* have already done best with gta 5 to pull all its potentials on last gen consoles unlike game released on 27May 2014

Inspite of having xbox one I will go for Pc edition as moding will be a lot fun with it.
