Don't over hype the next gen version!

Recommended Posts

Just a little reminder for all you NOT to hype the living sh*t out of the next gen version like you did with the original release only to be left desappointed!!!!

Don't get your hopes up for stuff that you want to see and probably won't happen. Please, I hope we all learned our lessons from the last gen release.

We all learn our lesson on that. I'm more hyped for The Last of Us Remastered edition coming in 2012.

Good point but I was never disappointed the first time round since I never played it.

+1.

But too late, it's already started lol

I see I see, guess they can't hold themselves :)

Too late I'm hyped as f*ck for the whole summer like last year ... never played the game though but I know it's great. So no dissapointment here I guarantee.

Good for you then. I kinda wish I never played it either so I could see it on next gen for the first time. I am not really hyped up.

There is one thing to understand here. What was overhyped were the features of the original game. There is no lies in here, the game is already made, and featurewise we'll get basically the same thing, except the more animals, NPC's and the better graphics detail. Plus, again, as the game is also already made and there is no need to market the game to the general public (because it was a pre-release), there will be no bullshots. Notice how the trailer was actually captured on PS4.

Although I was disappointed on how the game turned out to be, it's a Rockstar Games trailer, GTA V, next gen and PC, I can't do nothing but:

Every time I see that trailer.

You guys should be careful, I can see you're all setting yourself up for disappointment again. I see some of you talking about how it feels like it's 2011 again and the first trailer came out and you're really excited.

But you're starting up that viscious cycle where you EXTREMELY overhype things to the point where it'll be impossible to reach your expectations, thus leaving you feeling unsatisfied and dissappointed in the end. It is STILL GTA V at the core, the game hasn't changed, albeit graphics and some gameplay updates (Maybe more because Rockstar hasn't given out a ton of info yet) but it won't be a new game. I just don't want you guys feeling bummed out again when it isn't this super duper photorealistic greatest game of all time.

That being said I'm excited for the next gen/pc update of V, because I love V it's fun as sh*t. I can't wait to see it in updated graphics.

As someone who sunk like 300 hours into V on a last gen console, it's really difficult for me not to get overhyped. I can easily see the difference in every single scene in the trailer.

The only way my hype might fail me is if the trailer was not actually captured from PS4 and is instead bullsh*t like the original first 2 trailers.

Yeah I understand that, the graphics are going to look pretty damn sexy on the PS4 and especially on the PC. I just don't want people disappointing themselves and getting mad.

A fair point because there was an awful lot of hype and then a ridiculous amount of negativity. From some.

I was one of the people caught up in all the hype, speculating and excitedly drawling over ever screenshot and piece of news. And then I was one of the people that absolutely loved the game and consider it to be the greatest sandbox city to date.

So I'm planning on enjoying the hype and speculating all over again, and then I'll be upgrading to a next-gen console to enjoy it all over again! So I think I'm good to get caught up. I wasn't disappointed the first time! :)

It's basically the same game with better graphics, no reason to freak out... I agree

How can I be disappointed "again" if I wasn't even disappointed the frst time?

Your logic makes no sense.

he's talking about those guys who first got over-excited about the game and then went completely butthurt because it disappointed them for whatever reason. I cannot understand them either, he's got a point :)

BUT HOLY f*ckING sh*t IT IS COMING OUT ON PC OMG OMG

An awful lot of people felt that R* had physically stolen their hard-earned cash and tainted their lives beyond repair, they were so disappointed, so I think Op has a point. Just not relevant to you!

Yeah that's who I was referring to.

If you read my comments on previous threads, then you will see I've stated this a few times before already. GTA V was indeed quite disappointing for me, so I'm already wary of this news.

The new look of a remastered GTA V looks great so far, but unless there are any decent new additions, features and content (SP DLC comes to mind) to the game that would significantly improve the gameplay experience for me, then I won't be buying it on the PS4 when I finally get one. I'm waiting for more information to see how improved this version of V will be before I decide it's worth getting.

I think they will add SP DLC to Next-Gen GTA V for this very reason.

A next-gen console, with GTA V, including new comprehensive single-player storyline will be fairly easy for R* to create and a huge motivator for people to upgrade. They could even add in a small island town off the coast and open the casino and Fleeca Bank interiors and the temptation will be even higher.

If you look at it from R*'s point of view, they will probably add some convincing additional material - not just better graphics.

Man , I hope what you say is true. I really need something very good to get me interested in this game again than just nice remastered graphics and effects.
