Ukraine is Europe, hence the price.

I believe the price is set for the whole CIS region, not just Ukraine.

Checked Belarusian store, price $60 too. Really strange move, even in Europe the price lower now.

Depends on you. For me, there isn't really a big difference in price, but non-Steam (store) is slightly cheaper if I get from GMG or one of those key selling sites like Kinguin or even Amazon (altho Amazon is not cheaper at the moment, I have credit there). They only sell the RSC version though. I prefer the Steam version -- I know what I'm getting in respect to the method of updates, I am always on Steam, have many friends on there, etc. For me the Steam version made a lot more sense. I don't care about the retail box version at all. If I didn't use Steam a lot, I'd have been more likely to get the non-Steam version and had made the decision purely on price.

 

The most important thing to me is management/updates when choosing what service to get a game on. Only if a price is impressively different will that push me off of Steam. If you buy a game on Steam that has other DRM versions available (i.e. Ubisoft's uPlay or EA's Origin), I get updates/patches pushed through Steam if I have the version on Steam. This is a requirement for any game on Steam. The thing that pushes me away from non-Steam for THIS game, is I don't know how RSC is going to be handled. We all know Rockstar is using its own distribution method for the non-Steam version of the game and I highly doubt it will be as stable as Steam in the early going. Steam has its problems at times, sure, but I know what I get with that service. Rockstar have yet to release the client they're going to push the game out with and there's still the unknowns. Another small plus to Steam is with Steam I download a game and its installed as it downloads. Uplay and Origin both support this too, but not always. It used to be that you had to download the files and then go through install, adding another amount of time to the whole process. Will Rockstar's method install as it downloads or will you just be downloading installer files and then having to go through a very large install. Unless you're on SSD, a game this large will take a while to install and thats not even including the download time. Steam is more streamlined in every respect. Rockstar's service could very easily be smooth with no issues, but its unknown right now. I know what I get with a Steam version. Everyone has to use RSC with GTA Online, so that is unavoidable. It comes down to file management and distribution method for my decision. I made it the day pre-orders on Steam went live back in January, and there was really no doubt I was going with the Steam version at all.

No changes for me (60km away from Moscow), the price is still 1999RUB. Seems like Rockstar messed up something once again.

Anyway, it's better for Ukrainians/CIS citizens to stay away from getting the game at this moment.

I am looking back on activity on the Newswire and they do not leave it quiet for over a week, which is tomorrow....

 

So what does that mean? Well we have had PC Newswire updates on a Friday, so I think something might be coming tomorrow, it might not be a trailer or official announcement, but something like features is quite possible. It would also make sense with the live stream tomorrow as one event would not foul up the other.
