This information is incorrect. The install page was a thing the moment the pre-order went up back in January. I distinctly remember people posting screencaps of the installation window, myself included.

Shortly after the SteamDB update on Wednesday users started to report

that entering the URL 'steam://install/271590' into their browsers caused

the GTA V download page to appear, something which before hand didn't work.

note - some users claim the URL did not work before Wednesdays SteamDB update

while others claim it did work. Possibly related to different IDs for different

tiers and regions?All this info together gives a solid indication that R finalised

the code for V at some point late last week, added the missing info to SteamDB

over the weekend, uploaded the final game files to Valves content servers early

this week then added the final App IDs and linked them to the files on Wednesday

night.

Use your head. If there was a shift in date, the deadline for the pre-order would be pushed back as well. They are actually doing the complete opposite here by reminding us that the pre-purchase deadline remains the same, and that it will end very soon.

Looking at the leaked emails from yesterday, I'd say the angry demand was too much. The email talked about "we shouldn't address it [aircraft carrier] unless there are too many questions".

I ain't waiting til 17th to get the retail copy. It atleast takes 2-3 days extra to reach so it'll be 19th April f*ck that sh*t. Steam FTW..

You're super late bro. This was there since 2 weeks. I contacted WS Retail and they said that the date was given to them by the publisher. In India, Friday is the official release date for Entertainment purposes(Movies,CDs,etc.). So we're getting the game 3 days late. True but sad.

 

But Mortal Kombat X is releasing on 14th April then why GTA V got delayed to 17th April for this reason. GTA V and Mortal Kombat X are handled by the same publisher "E-xpress Interactive"

Remember the preorder tiers? If they choose to delay the game, they could just do another tier with less in game money.
