jan 27-pass out -in trailer

march 24 pass out -in trailer

Four?

1. It was Fall, delayed to January.

2. 2 Weeks before release they delayed to 24.03

3. Recently they delayed to April 14.04

4. ????????

PC was never announced for 17 nov, only for fall, and you can't count it as a delay since a delay is from a date to another one further in time.

You can't count Fall as a delay if no other date was announced before, it's not a delay it's just a date.

PC was announced for Fall 2014, which turned into November 18 for the consoles. Not so for PC, though. For PC, it turned into January 27. Which is Winter 2015. So yes, that is a delay.

The time window of "Fall 2014" was eliminated when November 18th was acknowledged as a release date. That doesn't exclude the fact that PC was originally announced for Fall 2014 (which, as we established, evolved into the November 18th date).

Ehm, yes, that's what I said?

You are contradicting me by saying the very same thing I was.

What I was saying is, it's has been 3 delays, since "fall" on its own can't be counted as a delay.

The delay FROM fall TO 27th january is the first one.

Then from january 27th to March 24th, second one.

And then from March 24th to Aprl 14th.

November is part of Fall though, I don't consider that a delay. Winter starts in December. Fall isn't necessarily October in my eyes.

The thing is, they delayed a thousand times and all the explanation they could give is the same old bullsh*t.

"We need a few extra weeks to ensure it's as polished as possible"

And they keep throwing this at us.

Ain't convincing nobody.

This last one was the most stupid, I can still remember how mad I got when I checked Twitter and saw PC Gamer tweet
"GTA V for PC delayed again"

I thought it was something old, but no, again, another delay...

A day later I was like "Just, f*ck this sh*t."

But now I realize that even though it is only 19 days, not that much compared to the other ones...

It's time lost.

They apologize, but that doesn't means anything, not going to reverse time...

Spoilers been got, disappointments... That ain't fun.

But hey, let's WAIT more for the PC Trailer, WEEKS AHEAD...

Sometimes, I imagine a parallel world where Rockstar Games is in a serious financial crisis that is almost leading the company to crash, and the only way to recover it is focusing on the development of their games on the PC.

I think they would rather close their doors than do that.

Yep. It's never gonna happen.

In all honesty, Rockstar ARE badly managed, their internal structure is a mess, they even lack basic communication in their own departments at times, etc, fact is, IF this was any other company, they would have been shut down years ago, but because Rockstar games bring in the mega millions, they are allowed to get away with what they want, which has created this arrogance within them, they are one of few companies who treat their employees like crap and have that "You should be grateful to work here" attitude and yet get praised for it. They're lucky Take2 basically allows them a blank cheque book to do as they please, Take2 are like the best parent company to be under, just look how different Rockstar and 2K are, etc, which is why I find it funny when some crazy people here blame Take2 for NOT forcing Rockstar to put out their games quicker.

If former employee testimonials are anything to go by then it is true, and wide spread.

but when you have love and passion for your games you will always be on top.

See that's another thing that bothers me about Rockstar, they have this love and passion, but only for their CURRENT title, once a game has been out after a while, they lose interest and then treat it with disrespect.

For example, we found out that the Grand Theft Auto games on Mobile, Rockstar were offered to do them internally, they REJECTED that and just outsourced it and gave some art assets and called it a day. These are the games which made the company big and yet they couldn't even be bothered to handle these titles fully internally to maximise the quality. The ONLY reason they even put San Andreas "Remastered" on Xbox 360 is because they had to pull the old copies down due to licence rights, and they just wanted to throw something out there for people to still buy, you know what they did? It's the damn Android version in an emulation wrapper! Just with an additional TXD cache for Xbox 360 files (which doesn't contain any improvements, just legal screens).

Another example, when the GameSpy servers shut down last year, what did Rockstar do? Rush out quick patches to REMOVE any of those features (including the majority of Social Club stuff on GTA IV/EFLC, and left it at that, they removed Multiplayer from Midnight Club on PS3 completely! Now, compare that to 2K who went back and patched their games and switched over the servers, hell, they even gave a hand to GearBox and brought back the Multiplayer for Borderlands 1 after managing to recoup all the stats!

Out of all their damn studios, they have NO LEGACY department to make sure their older titles are kept in decent form and working, hell, GTA1 and GTA2, which were offered out for free, they need patching on Windows Vista and beyond (GTA1 especially with it's save bug which crashes the game), these would be simple small fixes to the games code to keep them playable on newer systems, what do Rockstar do? They just flat out remove the game from everywhere, near enough trying to wipe it out of existence becauise they couldn't be bothered to fix them!

It's a real shame, it really is, because they just lose that passion for their older games and just give up on them BUT OH YEAH they will still happily sell them to you! We get to a point where modders on forums like this are restoring the games and making them work BETTER than Rockstar ever did, and we're people who don't have any access to the assets, sh*t, if we did we could probably port the games to everything! :p

It's crazy, for a company that makes as much as Rockstar do, to not even set aside a team to keep focus on this stuff, look at how riddled RDR and Max Payne 3 online are, look at how L.A.Noire is still bugged in some places on PC, etc, they only care about the current project, which since early 2013, has been GTAV and of course, GTAOnline. This is one area I'd wish Rockstar would put more effort into, at least up to the same standard as 2K or RockSteady, and remeber to treat their old games with the respect they deserve, especially games that made them what they are today, how they handled San Andreas for its anniversary, etc, was just a complete disgrace.

Wow, sorry that kinda went off on a rant there.

EDIT: And just to add in, I STILL buy their sh*t, YOU still buy their sh*t, we all STILL buy their sh*t, why? Because deep down they have us, when they do these sh*tty ports, we pay for them, at least hoping they are done well, and if they are not, we at least hope the sales will make Rockstar notice there's an audience for this stuff that deserve better and we hope that next time, Rockstar put out something better!! This should be called the Rockstar cycle, they put out a sh*tty port, we buy it, they might do better next time, they put out a sh*tty port, we buy, repeat.

Well said. We can't really blame them, as they already have many projects on their hands right now (Agent, GTA Online, etc.). But still, some of the older Rockstar's games are literally dead.

They updated the Steam page.

All screenshots have been replaced with the 4K ones! So, actual PC screenshots. Yeah!

http://store.steampowered.com/app/271590/

They only restored first person trailer, with a new date yet again, old are gone.

Also they could of added all the new screens we got last week, not just these 6 from January.

Still no release date counter.

Even their last game IV has effectively been abandoned. It's unfortunate that they have, given their increased experience with RAGE done nothing really to improve the general stability of IV.

I think the pattern will sort of reverse when the next Rockstar game is announced. At least if they want GTA Online to live. In fact, I'm actually afraid of what might happen once they announce their next game, if it's not going to be some half-assed attempt at a game because they can't leave their baby GTA Online.

Up for me.

That being said, I think today is a very logical day to expect news regarding Heists, seeing as today is a tuesday and heists drop next week tuesday. I wouldn't hold my breath expecting PC news today, or for a few weeks really.
