I can't believe how you guys can jump on the bandwagon of hating on Nvidia Gameworks.. have you guys actually seen it being mentioned and what if they use it for some reason what makes you jump to conclusions that it's going to be bad.

 

Everyone is jumping on conclusions. Everyone with an AMD gpu to be exact. Which games that include Gameworks run poorly on AMD graphics processors ? I'd really like to find out. Then I'll the reason why these people are complaining. As I said earlier : if you don't even meet the minimum requirements to play that game then you have no right to complain about poor performance.

Watch_Downgrs at its firsts weeks is a perfect example of how gameworks is dangerous to the gamers (mainly we AMD users).

I agree with you man. The difference HBAO+ makes is huge. I can't go back to regular AO now. Look the top of the lamp on ceiling. See the artifacts around it without HBAO+?

I always could see it on the Store page, but I guess it's only with SE.

If GTA V use gameworks, I'll ask steam for the refund from my preorder immediately!!!

 

I won't support a gaming company that sabotages a game to my graphic card to praise the rival GC manufacturer. It'll be ridiculous a Nvidia 2GB GC running the game better than my R9 290 blue because the game will be using an optimization destroyer made by nvidia.

It is the only point of a pre order that they can screw you over hard, so don't be whining and wanting a refund. Even if the game is utter crap on PC, you already bought it and have to deal with that!

There's a bit difference on the shadows, it doesn't glows strangely on objects like the <<<<<<< image.

Shadow of Mordor had high requirements and that runs flawlessly, GTA IV had low requirements and till this day it still runs like absolute sh*t.

 

Don't trust requirements.

What are you talking about? Shadow of Mordor's recommended specs are almost identical to V's, except for the i7 in place of the i5.

Until the game is released and we can compare the performance on our machines, the specs are little more than a suggestion of what you need....

 

Just because TXAA is present there is no need to panic yet! I showed that single parts of specific platform support means nothing if the job is done right as it was added as 'bells and whistles' by the dev team, given what time the devs have given this platform, I think that is what has happened here.

 

Until the official announcements are made on the Newswire, I am keeping an open mind, rather than getting the Doomsayer's Bell out. I still suspect that neither side has helped optimise the game as only a few pieces are present, if Gameworks was used, I would have expected to see many more parts of the platform used.

 

Another clue are the actual specs posted. The 660 and the 7870 are pretty much interchangable, if Gameworks is used, then there usually is a 'step up' for the AMD tech to compare performance. That isn't there this time.

 

For me, this is going on the backburner, we have to wait and see what Catalyst delivers in the next update. One is due in the time before GTA V launches and since there are several games in the launch window, I can see another one at launch.

Around 10 March or so they may talk again and release a ton of new screenshots...

And hopefully many of those questions will be addressed too.
