  1. 1. When will the preorder option on steam be available for GTA V PC?

Good luck with the "Move along..."

People will keep talking about it.

It's always like that -.-

What's the point with wanting leaked PC Gameplay?

It'll look kinda better than NG, and that's it.

The only thing that still would be a reason is the performance...

plus mouse and keyboard

And the film makers, plus probably Independence FM....

Am I pushing it a bit too far now?

And we can add to this the DSR Feature... Who mean even a 1080p Screen will be able to run 4k (with 400% scale)

That's great

I really hope it doesn't mean nVIDIA Gameworks because that would be shooting themselves in the foot, unless they actually did it properly. I wouldn't be amazed though given it even has 3D Vision support.

I don't know, nVidia GameWorks have actually worked on some games I have played...

I think most of the optimization part comes from the game developer too, nVidia can give a hand but nothing so exceptional.

If the devs do the code "all bloated" it'll lag as hell...

Hmm, IDK, that's my point of view.

i hope that doesnt mean sh*tty optimization for amd users.

Dont worry, Nvidia gameworks means sh*tty optimization for everyone, dosent discriminate. :D

That's like never the case.

There is not one single game that works fine on Nvidia GPUs but sh*t for AMD... and vice versa where it works fine for AMD but is sh*t for Nvidia.

"Optimized for Nvidia" or "Optimized for AMD" practically means nothing. All it means is Nvidia or AMD will get an edge in performance when the game is released... and the GPU company that didn't have the game optimized for their GPUs will release a driver update of their own in a week or two to offset the advantage.

A game that runs fine on Nvidia will run just fine on AMD and a game that runs fine on AMD will run fine on Nvidia.

There's no mention of Gameworks. It could just be the AA tech alone. Who knows? Past games haven't implemented NVIDIA'S GW to the fullest. Like Shadow of Mordor (although it was a GW title). That game doesn't even have any AA options beyond the sh*tty FXAA.

Black Ops 2 had TXAA, too. And that wasn't a Gameworks game. So we'll see.

Would be a quite bad idea to remove such percentage of profit, right?

And this is with the PC version of their biggest and most profitable franchise not release yet.

I would be curious to see the ratio if the PC version would be release at the same time or within a month of console release.

Euro Truck Sim 2 also has DSR support and that isn't affiliated to either side as well. That's just how SCS coded it.

It looks damn pretty on my R9 270X at 1080p with 400% scaling.

I pray to god that doesn't mean Gameworks. If yes, then combined with DRM, bye to smooth gameplay without no problems

Steam is DRM.

DRM can't really be put under a single type considering there are multiple forms of it.

There are two forms of DRM - Intrusive and Non-Intrusive. An example of intrusive DRM would be UPlay - how it constantly checks for an internet connection when online causing lag spikes in games like Driver San Francisco and Assassins Creed II. Steam could technically be regarded as non-intrusive DRM considering it doesn't do constant online checks and comes with a non-hassle Offline Mode. With Steam there is no need for multiple forms of DRM if the game is a Steamworks title.

Grand Theft Auto IV had the worst intrusive DRM on launch - it included Rockstar Social Club, SECURom and Games For Windows LIVE. The game would not operate fully without all three installed and the worst part was your save games where tied to your Games for Windows LIVE account. If you where playing the game and you lost your internet connection you would be booted back to the first mission in the game - and you weren't allowed to load a save game from your account unless you connected back online.

Judging from Max Payne 3 and the system requirements - Rockstar Games are not making the same mistake twice with Grand Theft Auto V on PC.

Just played GTA VC at 4K -> 1080p, don't think Gameworks even existed back then.

Nice to see TXAA. Why are you guys so worried ? If you have a decent GPU and a decent CPU then you won't have any problems.

I've seen so many people complaining in other game's forums about Nvidia Gameworks causing lag yet nobody met the minimum system requirements. Don't forget what you're playing the game on *facepalm*

TXAA is pretty nice in Assassin's Creed IV. Doesn't cause any lag , runs smooth and looks very nice even though it can be a little blurry at times but still... It also worked beautifuly in Watch Dogs and Far Cry 4 , for me at least.

If GTA V use gameworks, I'll ask steam for the refund from my preorder immediately!!!

I won't support a gaming company that sabotages a game to my graphic card to praise the rival GC manufacturer. It'll be ridiculous a Nvidia 2GB GC running the game better than my R9 290 blue because the game will be using an optimization destroyer made by nvidia.

EDIT: Where is written that the game will feature optimization-killerworks?

I can't believe how you guys can jump on the bandwagon of hating on Nvidia Gameworks.. have you guys actually seen it being mentioned and what if they use it for some reason what makes you jump to conclusions that it's going to be bad.

I agree....

If you read it, there is no mention of any other Gameworks features anywhere, only TXAA.

If that is the case, it could be the same as SCS adding universal DSR in ETS2, they just coded it in themselves.

There's still evidence of GTA V in Catalyst, so maybe that means AMD have not done the optimisation, but R* decided to use a few AMD tools to help run it on AMD cards. They have had long enough to look at options like this.

Just wait on the Newswire, we have just over a month for some answers.
