Has any one considered how pre-loading will work on NON STEAM copies?

 

It's just a thought that came up while browsing the PC forum. I have the Steam version (big whoop, had been saving the dosh since August .

 

Everyone remembers the PS3 "leak" from the pre load files right? Not encrypted I think, idk. Big time fail on Sony (lol).

 

Steam's case is a-okay because they have a really good encryption system, and the exe (and a few remaining files that are necessary) won't be downloaded until launch (not too sure on that bit, I don't actually recall. Only other game I've preloaded through Steam is Borderlands: The Pre Sequel).

 

I'm sure R* has thought of a way, assuming they've allowed pre loading for non-Steam copies. Or is it only Steam?

The think i wonder, does it really have no controller support?? In that case i wont buy it...

Maybe it has some features you cant do on consoles because there are no buttons let... Hydraulics? I hope not, I want to see them on peasantryland too

To be honest, were we really expecting anything regarding PC today? Maybe heists, but that's it.

Just a thought I had. I'm not sure if the console versions have a text-based chat, because I haven't really watched any console videos apart from funny gifs.

But do you guys think we'll get a text-based chat in GTA Online? Would be really useful for me as I'm deaf and voice-chat won't be helping a lot

Now the PC announcement and pre-order is rolling, there's going to be nothing new until March, barring a few reminders about buying the game for PC.
