Where I live it's either buying Steam version for 60€ or buying a retail version with my local currency which is equivalent of about 34€. Buying Steam Gift from someone who bought the game in a different region isn't an option since Steam won't allow for trading games between regions. Retailers like GMG sells only Social Club Redemption Codes. Basically If I don't want to overpay I need to stick to retail version and forget about Steam Achievements, Trading cards and all the good stuff.

Yeah! Because banning someone for mods in GTA Online with VAC would be fair! Banning the player from all VAC related steam games in the process REALLY helps the community.

 

Getting VAC banned means you'll only get banned from games using the same engine. If you get VAC banned from Counter Strike Source, you lose access to all secured Source servers (Not sure if CSGO is included in this)

 

Edit: You also get this really nice badge on your account profile, so people know you're an asshole. So you're somewhat right.

 

Don't you think the badge looks beautiful? I think VAC shouldn't be on GTA Online because then I can't play it

vac is like punkbuster, if rockstar choose to incorperate it they can but they wont cause they got cheater lobbys

Rockstar will be doing everything in their power to keep MP clean. After all a clean MP with lots of people playing means more shark cards being bought.

 

If it had VAC i'm sure you'd be okay, if you obtained it on something like CoD then you're only banned from VAC secured CoD online games.

 

I am curious to see what AC they implement if any.

I'm waiting for confirmation on whether the retail/physical copy of the game will include a steam key.

If it does, I'm definitely getting one in-store. If not, I might go with Steam I'm not sure yet.

 

I really want a collector's edition like the one that came with the original release :'(

Achievements will be in the game, as the SteamDB site of the game have the info about achievement languages.

It wasn't ever blocked, currently only China, India and Germany version have a region-lock. But I guess Brazil will get the lock soon.

And how did you manage to buy it, please? I am on brazilian VPN, I created brazilian account, but when I entered my VISA card the transaction got changed into 60 euros

It is not possible to buy it with Brazilian VPN... your credit card/paypal will always tell Steam truth about your country of origin. So f*ck it. I will wait for a sale. No way I will give 60 eur for a game that can be bought in our retail store for 38€. ... And I would buy that but I want steam version

As of right now China and India lost the "buy" button on Steam as well. Brazil already has a region lock. Guess we'll have to wait while they put a region lock on other countries and then we'll be able to preorder.

It's taking them a long time however.

Well thanks to splintter we can confirm that Brazil is indeed region locked in that you cannot gift it to people outside of South America. Rockstar is going hard trying to get their max money. 40 million copies sold on console for full price wasn't enough.

Gosh, even Ubi, which has their own market called Uplay, make Steam pages for their products more accurate. Looks like R* marketing division suddenly forgot how to promote the game when it's just about to release on PC. Hope that doesn't affect the development team.

and if i can redeem it without using a VPN it means that it's a copy bought from any other country from the same region i am?So in this case i won't have any kind of problem ?

That someone will get an error when trying to gift the game to you because you live in another region.

Region locking shouldn't be a surprise to you. Steam made an announcement lately about adding more region locks to try and decrease the number of people going to CIS traders and stuff.
