Preorder month

  1. 1. When will the preorder option on steam be available for GTA V PC?

Since people are speaking about the download rates, let me brag a bit. If Steam will be in a good mood, I`ll probably download the 65Gb in an hour or so :D

100Mbps up and down :D

Should take 7 hours if we're talking about the uncompressed 65 gigs, but as far as I know, Steam compresses the downloads quite nicely.

So I'll guess around 3-6 hours.

Good thing we've already got a confirmation on the pre-load! Some devs wait quite a while before they say anything about pre-loading.

i dont understand why some fellas overstate download time or game size. already we will have enough time with pre load so should be smooth. and we are using pc while download we can do other stuff on pc.

I should be able to download it in about 2 hours, but for some reason my Steam downloads are very slow.

I think that 65GB is too much to pre-load game 24 hours before premiere. 1 week would be great and enough for everybody.

Steam Download won't be 65GBs. :panic:

That's the space it would take after extraction into your HDD. The download would be somewhere near 50GBs, for sure.

Yeah. People don't seem to understand that. That is the required HDD space. Not the size of the actual game itself. It should be around 50 to 60 gigs.

What do you want? :panic:

You want beautiful HD textures, great optimization, smooth gameplay, high-quality post-processing effects, and downloadable content..

All under 20-30GBs?

Nope.

No can do.

Its 2015. Expect big things..

You guys worrying about pre-loading, don't. The game will be available for download way before release. I guarantee by the beginning of March the game will be "done" and the only thing past that point that they'll be working on is a day one patch. So the preload will be up probably a week before release. There's no way they could have f*cked up this release so badly that they needed every single day between now and March 24th to get the game done. It'll be done way before then. They just have themselves extra time so they can't delay it again.

At least they better not. They f*cked us over too hard as it is. Delaying a game two times? And within 2 weeks of an already delayed date? That's embarrassing.

Yeah sure, you want a good compression, but what about CPU consumption for decompressing ?

I honestly prefer the game take all the space it needs than compress all the files.

I dl Mp3 in about an hour with 100mb DL.

This should take around 2.5h, if steam works fine, without overload. I always download with max DL speed on steam. Great servers.

Hey guys, do any of you live in China? I would like to get it cheaper. Is there anyone who would like to make some deal with me for steam key of GTA 5?

You can't anymore since they now have a separate Tier for the CN (Chinese) version of the game, so it's region-locked.

65GB is extremely less for all the assets with such a big map and all the radio stations. I honestly expected more!

Better compression: so what your PC should load three times as long to have 63GB?

HDD space for the game here costs 2€, not too much to ask for a 60€ game.

I'm personally not going to preorder it. I want it on steam, and the bonus for preordering it there is San Andreas, which I already own. Rockstar lets you choose a ton of games I've never played, but then you don't get to have it on steam. I also want to make sure that it's actually going to run well before I spend $60 on it.

I myself want to pre-order it on steam but I'm worried about pre-load since some guys said that pre-load from rockstar's warehouse will be available earlier than steam pre-load. My connection speed sucks and it would take days so this is the only thing that pisses me off, just wanna make sure which one will be available earlier..
