im chill

so no new article today/tomorrow

You're chill but you're still ridiculous.

There is no reason why they can't post PC information tomorrow b/c they posted a dumb "highlights" post today. Quit with the baseless goofy assumptions.

BTW does anybody here know if the retail activation codes can be used in various computers? (For example if my current one brokes up and I get a new one, upgrade my mobo and components, format my hdd, etc)

I think sticking to steam is safer since you just gotta activate it in your new computer and you've got full digital rights again for all of your games.

Since this got buried by people posting the sh*twhire link and the new Trolling Rockstar has gone with, I'll leave this here again just in case somebody knows, could be very useful to me.

Thanks.

I was able to use my Call of Duty 4 retail key on multiple systems, so I think it will be the same with GTA V.

The activation key you will be using is to be activated on a Social Club account. After that, GTA5 is linked to that account forever. As long as you have the installation discs, you'll be able to sign in the Social Club in-game from any computer and play legally. At least that's how it worked with Max Payne 3. If Rockstar defies logic and decides to use secuROM or something, you should have at least 5 activations.

rlly hope they release soemthing tomorrow, if they dun... well... im gonna be heart broken

The highest possible chance of getting info is next week since it's ONE week before release.. so if there's nothing this week then we have reached the end of the waiting game. Cheer up!

Expecting something on 13th... Definitely.

13th sounds about right, as I said on Saturday:

I'd say we should get pre-order and sysreq by the week of the 12th.

We're the 13th over here.

I have read an article Rockstar have to release System requirements 13th January on steam because of steam rules,

? What Steam rules?

There are no rules regarding Steam and requirements. They can be released months or just days in advance of a release.

I think that there must be something this week.

2 weeks for marketing is logic, 1 week seems ilogic.

But with R you never know, maybe they dont say nothing and the 27 release the game.

WTF does the EULA have to do with anything? There are no "Steam rules" in respect to system requirements. Its up to the developer whether or not to release that info and they can months in advance or in some cases, just days. Steam has no say in it.

The one area I can see Steam having an effect is that they could be planning a "big deal" with this rollout i.e. they launch the digital pre-order/deliver information in coordination with something like a Steam Rockstar sale. IE Midweek Madness or Weekend deal. They launch all the info and then at the same time announce a Rockstar sale on their old titles as well. This is mostly likely a stretch, but not impossible. If this was to happen, we'd get the info tomorrow (Midweeks are announced on Tuesdays) or Thursday (Weekend deals are announced on Thursdays).

At any rate, Steam is not the reason we don't have the damn requirements yet lol

Except that's completely wrong.

Game of Thrones Telltale got requirements only 8 days before its release. Far Cry 4 got them 11 days before release.

There's already a precedent for games getting requirements with less than 2 weeks to go.
